Today I'll show you a Sneak Preview of Hey Chick Card Class Coming Soon!

Do you remember Hey Chick, a sexy little stamp set from the Sale-a-bration selections  in 2017 (I think)? It was/is a real cutie....

Well not only are we getting a second chance at the stamp set but also a set of dies to use with it....

AND, we're getting a second stamp set called Hey Birthday Chick AND a set of dies to use with it!

Wow--does it get any better? Answer: Yes! it does!

March 12th (Friday evening) we'll have a Zoom card class with 3 designs--using both sets of stamps and making 3 of each design! All you will need for the class are the stamps, inks and adhesive. I'll be supplying the card preps for you and the envelopes. All the die cutting, dry embossing (folders) and layers will be ready to go. I'll demo putting the card together and then you'll have time to work on your supplies, ask questions, get a repeat if needed, and chat with other participants.

The Berry Blessing bundle has a lovely stamp set with a pack of coordinating Berry Delightful Designer Series Paper! And, yes, this bundle  also coordinates with the Sweet Strawberry stamp set & coordinating punch in the Spring mini (officially called the Jan-June Mini)!

Here's today's card:

If you love to color you can use your Stampin'Write Markers or your Blends (alcholol markers)--you can even use your Blender pens & ink pad. But...if you are in a rush (who isn't these days) or if you simply don't like to color, there is the two step stamp that will color it in instantly for you. 

I love the blues in this paper so I chose to do our first card with the blueberry stamps and leaves...the set also contains 3 very verses that cover a multitude of occasions.

One of the really fun points of the designer paper is that one side is all about berries & the other side has gorgeous coordinating colors but in more geometric patterns. This means you can mix and match the designs to create some pretty wonderful projects like the card above.

I"ll give you the step by step directions for this card followed by the supply list--order your supplies today.

Directions:

1. Cut Pacific Point cardstock 8 1/2 X 5 1/2, score the long side at 4 1/4 (card base).

2. Cut Basic White cardstock ( #159276) 5 1/4 X 4; adhere to card front with liquid glue.

3. Stamp leaf outline and berry outline in Memento ink; use Pacific Point ink with the solid blue berry stamp and Just Jade ink with the solid leaf stamp to color images. Note: you may want to draw some light pencil lines to let you know about where the stamping should be placed so it will not be covered by the designer paper later.

4. Stamp verse in black ink.

5. Cut 2 coordinating pieces of designer paper 1 3/4 X 1 3/4 (see card for my selections); cut one piece 1 3/4 X 3 1/8; adhere these to the card front with liquid glue--see photo for positioning.

Today we're going to create with the new Sale-a-bration Flower & Field Designer Series Paper. For the next few weeks we'll be focusing on the beautiful free items in the Stampin'Up! Sale-a-bration mini catalog.

Today we're creating a lovely quick card using one of the designs in this pack...

We're also using a couple of dies from new sets in the Spring (Jan-June mini catalog)--the new In Bloom bundle has a set of dies (yes, to die for!) which create these quick flowers that are perky as well as lovely ...and...it takes only a minute to cut out.

I'll give you the step by step directions below followed by the Supply List so you can order the supplies you need right now.

Directions:

1. Cut Granny Apple Green cardstock 8 1/2 X 5 1/2, score long side at 4 1/4 (card base).

2. Cut Basic Black cardstock 3 3/4 X 5, adhere to card front with liquid glue.

3. Cut leaf design (Flower & Field Designer Series paper) 3 5/8 X 4 7/8; adhere to card front with liquid glue.

4. Die cut flower (Pierced Blooms dies#154312) from Daffodil Delight cardstock; adhere to card front with dimensional; cut flower center from black cardstock and adhere to flower center with liquid glue.

5. Tie approximately 6" Bumblbee ribbon in a bow; adhere under flower with a glue dot.

6. Die cut tag (Hydrangea Haven Bundle#156251) from Granny Apply Green cardstock; stamp "for you" in black in and adhere tag under bow with a dimensional.

Creative Challenge

What is this?

*Create something from the materials provided in a Kit prepared for the current challenge
using your own stamps, inks, dies, folders and adhesive.

*You may not add any materials.
ALL PRODUCTS USED to create your project (stamps, inks, dies, folder, etc)  MUST BE CURRENT STAMPIN’UP! product--must appear in the current annual catalog or the Aug-Dec Mini catalog.
(note: any project using non-current SU or non-SU products will not be entered into the challenge.
Entry fee will not be refunded.

A list of products & the catalog in which they appear must accompany your project when submited.

Kits will be ready for pick up or mailing 9/7/20 or after.

Categories
You assign your project to one of these categories--

I. Just a card
(no fancy folds or other unusual designs---just a card)

II. Anything else
(fancy fold cards, 3d projects, giftables, scrap pages, anything except Just a Card)

When is the project due?

 Give/send your finished project to Sandi by 11/5/20 with the list of products used to create it and the catalog in which the products appear. 
Projects delivered later will not be entered in the challenge. Entry fee will not be refunded.

What happens then?

-Projects will be photographed & displayed on a page on this blog--
the link will be sent to all on the mailing list and
you are welcome to share the link with your stamping buddies.

From 11-6 to 11-20-20 anyone may cast one vote for one project in each Category 
they deem most creative/artistic in that category.

On 11/21/20 the winner will be announced via email to the mailing list
and on this blog page unless a tie exists and then the announcement will be made as quickly as possible
