Stamping with Pick a Season Sale-a-bration Stamp Set

Today we're Stamping with Pick a Season Sale-a-bration Stamp Set for the second time. Tuesday we created a quick and easy birthday card with this set. If you missed it check it out here click to see Tuesday's card.

This is the set we are using this week which you can earn with a $60 purchase of product...

Stamp

and here's today's creation...

RedWith a bit closer look....

Red cu

As you can see we focused on Valentine's Day or an anniversary for today's creation.

We used the heart side of the Marbled Elegance Designer Series Paper today--just perfect to coordinate with the heart inserts. Of course, we used Real Red ink for the hearts and Garden Green for the tree leaves.

We've added a fence in the background in Pecan Pie and a triple bow from the Gold Twisted Thread (and Online Exclusive product).

We "shined" up the focal point with 2 strips of Gold Foil tucked behind the focal point on both sides. Last but not least we added a dragonfly (Birds & Dragonflies embellishments) which is just perfect flying above the fence.

Come back by next Tuesday and see which Sale-a-bration Freebie we're using then!

Directions:

1. Cut Thick Basic White cardstock 8 1/2 X 5 1/2, score long side at 4 1/4 (card base).

2. Cut Real Red cs 4 X 5 1/4; adhere to card front

3. Cut Basic White CS 3 7/8 X 5 1/2; adhere to Red layer.

4. Cut designer paper (hearts from Marbled Elegance DSP) 3 3/4 X 5; adhere to white layer

5. Cut white CS 2 1/4 X 4:

*Stamp tree trunk in Early Espresso
    *Stamp leaves in Garden green
    *Stamp hearts in Real Red
*Stamp fence in Pecan Pie (stamp multiple times)

6. Cut 2 pieces of Gold foil 1/2 X 3"; use glue dots to adhere to back of white piece so 1/8" appears on each side (see sample). Adhere this unit to card front with dimensionals.

7. Cut approximately 21" of Twisted Gold Thread, tie in triple bow and adhere to trunk with a glue dot.

8. Adhere a dragonfly (Birds & Dragonfliew embellishments) above fence.

Creating with Sale-a-bration Pick a Season Stamp Set

Today we are Creating with Sale-a-bration Pick a Season Stamp Set. During Jan-Feb when you purchase $60 in product you can select a freebie from the SAB brochure and this set is one of them!

Here's the Pick a Season....

StampThis is today's card...

Melonand a bit closer...

Melon cu

Before we get into the design I want to thank Tracie Clarke for inspiring this card design!

The stamp set has multiple "inserts" for the tree to address many occasions....hearts, flowers, leaves, shamrocks and Easter eggs! Great options for your coming year.

Our card begins with a Melon Mambo base with a gorgeous piece of designer paper from the Marbeled Elegance set. You may remember the reverse side  displaying swirled "paint" in white, gold, red and pink.  This side has lovely red roses that coordinate quite nicely with our rose inserts in the tree.

The tree trunk, a separate stamp, is in Early Espresso and the leaves are in Garden Green. We stamped the roses in Melon Mambo to match the base card and designer paper.

We're using the greeting from another Sale-a-bration Freebie (Day to Celebrate)--we stamped on Pretty in Pink and hand cut the label.

The final touch are two of the gold birds that are simply elegant flying above our tree.

Stop back on Thursday to see another creation using this stamp set!

Do you want to see a "Brilliant" Kaleidoscope?

Do you want to see a "Brilliant" KaleidoscopeDid you know a group of butterflies is called a Kaleidoscope? What a fun name for a bunch of butterflies--so I thought this card fit that description very well.

Vellum card

The background is that beautiful Butterfly Bijou Designer Series paper--with a definite Kaleidoscope of butterflies. Using two of the watercolor designer papers for the under-butterflies, I cut two of the butterfly overlays in white to top them off.

With most of the hard work done for you with that lovely designer paper, this card takes only minutes to assemble but looks much more difficult.

Let me remind you of the "brilliant idea" we discussed last week. Let's say you want to create 10 cards using just one of those six butterflies in the single stamp---what can you do so that you don't have to stamp all 6 butterflies?

Here's a Brilliant Idea--purchase a separate stamp set ($17), cut apart the butterflies--- each is a completely separate image. Now you can stamp each one singly leaving the other stamp whole to stamp all 6 at one time! "Brilliant", right?

Until May 3rd you can purchase this bundle (stamps and dies) after May 3rd it will appear in the new annual catalog. The designer paper and the Specialty paper will not be available after May 3rd.

The brochure for these products can be downloaded by clicking here Download 02.02.21_FLYER_OOP_Q1_NA butterfly collection

We're also having a zoom class featuring this set of dies and creating 12 awesome cards on April 24th! Want to sign up--contact me: [email protected]

Remember if you place an online order using this month's host code (7AUSB7HQ) you'll receive $5 in Stampin'Up! products (I choose) for each $50 in product that you order.

Directions:

1. Cut Thick Basic White cardstock 8 1/2 X 5 1/2, score the long side at 4 1/4 (card base).

2. Cut designer paper (Butterfly Bijou) 5 3/8 X 4 1/8; adhere to card front with liquid glue

3. Cut Basic White cardstock 1 1/2 X 3 1/4; stamp verse (Happy Thoughts) in black ink (e.g. Memento).

4. Cut 3 3/8 X 1 5/8 Pool Party cardstock; adhere to back of verse with liquid glue.

5. Cut 2 3/4 X 4 1/4 Vellum cardstock & adhere to card front with glue dots placed at lease 1" from the outer edges (so they will be hidden behind the verse).

6. Adhere the verse unit to the center of the vellum with glue dots.

7. Die cut two medium sized solid butterflies one each from the pink water color & from the blue watercolor papers; cut the corresponding butterfly overlays from white card stock.  Adhere the overlays to the pink/blue solid die cuts with glue dots under the butterfly bodies. Adhere the butterflies to the card using glue dots.

8. Adhere one large and two small Cabana Artistry Blooms sequins around the verse (see photo).

I Took Stampin'Up! Butterfly Brilliance Out of the Trash!

Today I took Stampin'Up! Brilliance Out of the TrashYes, it's true!

I stamped the multi-butterfly stamp on white cardstock, die cut the multi-butterfly die -- tossed negative image in the trash. Then I really "looked" at the  negative image  & saw this.

Trash

I "saw" this awesome stencil (mask)...I snatched it out of the transh & here's what transpired with some ink & sponges...

Sponged background card

Look closely --you'll see butterfly images in that gorgeous eye-popping background paper. I simply used 3 inks, sponges, repositioning the mask each time I switched ink color.
