Melon

and a bit closer...

Melon cu

Today we're actually using two of the Sale-a-bration Freebies...the background uses the Bloom Impressions Designer Series Paper that is free with a $60 order. The stamp is from the Corner in Bloom stamps we used on Tuesday.

We cut 3 strips of the Melon Mambo floral design to use as our background--we layered this on white and used a Melon Mambo cardstock base.

The focal flower is stamped on white and then layered on Melon Mambo and another layer of white. The flower is stamped in Mememto because we're using our alcohol markers (Blends) to provide the color.

The white & silver bow gives the base of the flower and extra pizazz and the sprinkling of pink sequins adds some interest around the flower.

Stop back by Thursday to see another creation using another freebie.

Lolly& a bit closer...

Lolly cuThis is a super simple card and you can change the greeting to any number of others using the Thoughtful Wishes Hybrid or even using a stamp set...so a super versatile design.

We began with the largest corner stamp in Memento ink. We then added the single flower on a stem in the middle of the corner and a small single bloom at the end of the corner and at the mid-Hello. We then colored the images with our blends: Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Grany Apple Green and Crumb Cake. But again....you can switch out to any color combo you like.

We mounted this focal piece on the Lemon Lolly card base and applied 3 small rhinestones to add that sparkle--we colored the rhinestones with the Dark Daffodil Delight Blend to keep with our color scheme.

Quick, simple and any color combo.

We layered the Toadstool Garden Designer Series paper on the Melon Mambo card front. (Note: this DSP is also a free set earned with a $60 purchase during Jan/Feb.)

Cutting a narrow reverse dovetail from a white square begins our central image. This was put through the Star Gazer embossing folder (a Sale-a-bration Freebie earned with a $60 order). This gives a lot of interest in the back ground for our wreath.

The wreath is die cut from Old Olive with 3 spiffy little flowers die cut from Melon Mambo and arranged in a triangle on the lower left of the wreath. The centers of the flowers are Antique Pearls--one of our new embellishments.

We topped off the flowers with a double Twisted Gold Thread bow.

Stamping the hello in black ink on Peach Pie cardstock we cut it out with our paper snips and adhere it on the lower right of the wreath.

Our focal wreath was stamped with Pretty Peacock on the central square. We topped this with a die cut wreath in Pool Party...this overlay gives us nice depth to the image.

The greeting was stamped on Melon Mamb and used the label die to cut it out on the left end and snipping off the unused right side with our paper snips.

We used the dovetail die from Nested Essentials to cut the Peacock tail to peek out the right edge of the white square.

A double bow of the new Twisted Gold Thread adds that little pizzaaz that ratchets up our central image.

This was set on the gorgeous designer paper from Blooms Impressions (another Sale-a-bration freebie).

Daff

As you can see our card is filled with sunshine...about now all the shine and sparkle of the holiday is over and the gloom of the winter is settling in with later morning and early evening light being the norm. So it's a great time to be sending cards with lots of light to brighten the days.

We layered our embossing done with the Eyelet folder on the card front...give us that nice lacy look all over.

We stamped the flower in Daffodil and the center is all shiny with the Flat Backed Pearls. We used the same leaf spray as we used on Tuesday's card--it has multiple leaves plus a nice little sprig all in one stamp.

Our Happy Hello is from the Flower Cart stamp set but you can use any greeting you need on this one.

The finishing touch is a triple bow of twisted gold thread at the base of the leaf stems to top it all off.

Join us next week and see how we're starting off the new year.

12 Weeks of Christmas Week 12 (Part 1) Quick & Easy Thank You Cards

With the big day behind us we're designing 12 Weeks of Christmas Week 12 (Part 1) Quick & Easy Thank You Cards. After receiving those lovely & thoughtful gifts we need to say 'thanks' but we're still recovering from all the activities so we want to make these pretty but quick & easy.

The stamps we're using this week is the Regal Floral set...

Screenshot 2024-12-18 114416This is today's quick card...

PetuniaWe began with a large white frame of Distressed Tile embossing--one of those folders that gives you a lovely but subtle all over design.

Our triple flower is stamped in Petunia Pop---we're a bit weary of the red and green combo by now so a fresh new look is what we are after.  The leaves are an awesome single stamp giving plenty of green leaves and an additional sprig.

We sparkled up the flower centers with silver Drusy embellishments.

To add a bit of texture we used the dotted stamp also in Petunia---stamping off first before stamping on our card decreases a bit of the ink and makes the stamped image a bit more subtle.

We added a very narrow border of Petunia around the stamped layer for some needed contrast.

Stop by Thursday to see what we are creating then with this set.

12 Weeks of Christmas Week 10 (Part 1) Simply Quick Card Using One of a Kind

Today we're designing 12 Weeks of Christmas Week 10 (Part 1) Simply Quick Card Using One of a Kind.  Rime is getting short & we're focused on very quick & east.  This week we're using the One of a Kind bundle...

Our card for today....

Carda bit closer

Card cu

To achieve quick & simple working with layers for your base to achieve a finished look without much effort--we layered Boho Blue on the base & added the white focal point.

To avoid using an embossing folder to spice up the background we used a blending brush in the easiest technique possible.... first load your brush with ink (Boho Blue) by rolling it around on the rounded bristles...then start your hand in circular motion before you hit the cardstock & beginning in the center spiral out...reload/repeat until you like the density of blue shadow....always starting in the center & spiraling outward.

Then we stamped the large snowflake in the center with Misty Moonlight & the 3 smaller snowflakes in Boho Blue. Note: Another quick technique is to mount all 3 of the small snowflakes on one block...this way you ink once & stamp once for each application

The greeting is stamped in Misty Moonlight on a white rectangle--I measured mine (see below) but you can simply cut it out with your Paper Snips. Add this to the center of the large snowflake with mini dimensionals.

You can be finished at this point or add 3 rhinestones in a triangle using the centers of the small snowflakes.

Stop back by Thursday to see our last use of this bundle
