Using Up Paper Scraps to Make Handmade Cards

Today we're Using Up Paper Scraps to Make Handmade Cards. For a couple of weeks we've been creating some great cards with designer paper and learning some neat tips & tricks to use up our scraps. This is our final week of this series with 2 more super fun and easy cards.

The designer paper we're using this week is the Flowering Zinnia Designer Series Paper--it's one of the most colorful and vibrant papers with which we are currently working...

The Flowering Zinnia DSP is wonderfully coordinated with colors and designs which made our scrap selections quite easy for today's creation.  The ones we chose were small designs with great blending colors.  The strips were so easy--I'm sure your scrap bin has tons of 1" strips! You can even use designs from different designer paper series.

We layered these strips on Lemon Lime Twist and underlayed all with the Old Olive base card.

One of the design colors was Lemon Lolly which is quite light making it great for stamping our greeting.

Then our focal accent is the adorable Paper Butterfly. As you know these arrive in white and this makes them absolutely perfect for shading any color to  match your current project. We daubered this one with Pumpkin Pie ink and they "painted" it with gold Metallic Enamel Effects--that gives it a lovely shiny rich sheen. This was then embellished with 3 sparkly rhinestones and the card is ready for sending!
