12 Weeks of Christmas Week 3 (Part 2) Quick & Easy Gift Tags

Today we are creating 12 Weeks of Christmas Week 3 (Part 2) Quick & Easy Gift Tags. We're continuing to use Festive Words..if you missed the tag we created on Tuesday using this same set check it out here....Tuesday's Gift Tag.

and the Greetings of the Season dies

Stocking

As you can see these dies are specifically designed to create tons of tags...gift tags or tags used on card fronts...use them singly or use them together.  This week we've chosen to attach 2 tags from the set to give us some extra pizzazz! That long dovetail tag is attached at the back to form the double layer look for today's creation.

We've used the sketched stocking stamp with Fa la la embedded in it to add that perky style and fun.

Surrounding the stocking we added the Red/White Peppermint Dots to coordinate with the red stocking and just plain sprinkle of cuteness! I'd love a truck load of those to accompany the truckload of glimmer paper that's on my Wish List for Santa this year!

To top it all off we added that sweet Shaded Spruce Satin bow at the top.

Stop back by next week for Week 4 of 12 Weeks of Christmas.

12 Weeks of Christmas Week 3 (Part 1) Quick & Easy Gift Tags

Today we're creating 12 Weeks of Christmas Week 3 (Part 1) Quick & Easy Gift Tags! The tags we're creating this week will be using a fun stamp set, Festive Words, and a totally fabulous set of dies, Greetings of the Season.

Here is the Festive Word set....

Here's today's tag..

Tree

The Festive Words is "simply" terrific for creating tags--the greetings are built creatively in the image.   This makes creating the tag quite simple and still display a very professional appearance.

We begin today's tag using the large tag die cut from White cardstock--notice the lovely stitching around the edges and the hole already punched to make this a very easy tag.

We then die cut the long dovetail from red cardstock and layer it behind the tag--tie them together with Rea & White Baker's Twine.

Today's tag is stamped with the tree ...the words Love Peace & Joy embedded among the branches. To give some pizzazz in the surrounding tag we stamped the random dot in Stazon Saddle Brown ink giving the dots a golden color.

The tree is colored with Light Shaded Spruce Blend and topped off with a star die cut from Peach Pie Glimmer paper and a Cherry Cobbler & Gold bow at the trunk. To cinch the pizzazz we sparkle up the branches with Wink of Stella.

Stop back by Thursday to see the second part of Week 3--Quick & Easy Christmas Tags.

12 Weeks of Christmas Week #2 (Part 2) More Beautiful Tags

Today we continue 12 Weeks of Christmas Week #2 (Part 2) More Beautiful Tags. Tuesday we created a very cute tag with the Merriest Trees dies...if you missed it check it out here Click here to see Tuesday's tag.

For today's tags (yes, more than one) we're continuing to use the Merriesst Trees dies

Screenshot 2024-10-09 091516

We'er using the layering tree dies today to create 4 simple tags by adding layers to the bottom of our tree.

Note: for each tree we recommend die cutting the base (whichever you are using for your base) in white cardstock to give the tag a bit more stability, made the backside look professional and gives you a great place to easily write the "To/From" info.

The small version...

Small adj2This tag uses the 3-tier, 2-tier & 1 tier dies from the Take a Bow Designer Series Papers & the top tier is from the white glimmer paper.

The medium size tag...

Medium treeFor the medium tag we took the small tag above & added the red/white striped layer using the 4 tier die.

Finally our large tag...

Large tree

This adds the green with stars DSP using the 5-tier die.

Using this model you can adjust the size of your tag to fit your gift size---the largest would not look great on a tiny box ... likewise the small tag would not look great on a very large bag or box.

Here's a suggestion....die cut multiple of each tier & some white bases of each size...this way you can construct the size you need on the spot when you need it!

Stop back next week for Week 3 of the 12 Weeks of Christmas!

Directions:

Note: below are the directions for the large tree---to create the mediun/small tags just reduce the number of tiers.

1. Die cut the 5 tier tree from white cardstock & from the green with stars designer paper  (Take a Bow); Cut approximatel 12" red/white baker's twine--adhere between DSP & white layer; adhere the white die cut to the back of the designer paper tree.

2. Die cut the following and adhere to the top of each successive layer:

*4-tier tree from red/white striped DSP
*3-tier tree from the green dotted DSP
*2-tier tree from the red with white dots paper
*1-tier gree from the white glimmer paper (Berry Burst, Old Olive, White Glimmer paper)

3. Die cut solid star from Peach Pie Glimmer paper (2024-26 In Color Glimmer); adhere to tree top.

12 Weeks of Christmas Week 2 (Part 1) More Simple Gift Tags

Today we are in 12 Weeks of Christmas Week 2 (Part 1) More Simple Gift Tags.  Last week we began our journey to Christmas by creating some super simple tags...if you missed it you can check it out here Week 1 Part 1 and here Week 1 Part 2.

We're continuing our Christmas tags with a slightly upgraded design but still keeping it relatively simple and quick.

This week's designs use the "carried over" Merriest Tree Dies

Screenshot 2024-10-09 091516Today's tag uses the "tag" die along with one of the stackable tree dies...

Tag

Because our base is designer paper which is a bit more lightweight than cardstock we first cut a tag from white cardstock followed by the red dotted designer paper and glued these together. Note the tag die already has your hole punched in the top ready to go.

Then we die cut the 3-tier tree from the green with stars designer paper and popped that up with dimensionals on the tag.

The star is cut from the Peach Pie (2024-26 In Color Glimmer) paper and the ornaments are medium rhinestones colored with the Dark Cherry Cobbler Blend.

The tie is 12" of Red/White Baker's Twine looped through the tag hole.

Stop back Thursday to see out next Christmas tag for some real cutie tags!

Part Two of Week #1 in 12 Weeks of Christmas Using Scraps for Gift Tags

Today we're in Part Two of Week #1 in 12 Weeks of Christmas Using Scraps for Gift Tags. Tuesday we created a really pretty & quick gift tag---if you missed it check it out here click to see Tuesday's tag.

Today we're using the same bundle that we used on Tuesday--the Christmas Labels set

Screenshot 2024-10-02 115631

This set was just made for this week's projects.

Here's today's tag...

SmallWhen I die cut this cutie I didn't know which greeting I wanted to use--I picked up the one I used on Tuesday and was super surprised to see that it fit just perfectly in this die cut also! The cut is completely different that the first tag but Stampin'Up! has cleverly designed this die cut to also accommodate it!

Again, we used white cardstock fron the scrap bin and Real Red ink. We also used the same peppermint embellishments to add that special pizzazz. And, again you can create tons of these within an hour for your stash.

Now...for the idea promised you on Tuesday....aren't we all looking for a fun gift for our special people--co-workers, small group buddies, neighbors, etc....AND, we all are looking for that budget conscious gift that is awesome, fun, and inexpensive, am I right?

So create about 20 of these tags in a hand crafted bag or box, tie it with a pretty ribbon and use one of these tags on your bag. You are using up scraps and creating a fun inexpensive gift that will be greatly appreciated by your friends (they are busy too and love to use handmade items). So get busy--create some more and give them away!

Stop back next week for Week #2 of Christmas projects.

12 Weeks of Christmas Begins with Using Scraps for Gift Tags

This year's 12 Weeks of Christmas Begins with Using Scraps for Gift Tags. We are beginning Christmas projects with gift tags...because every year I'm going to make all my gift tags & at 10P on Christmas Eve I'm madly finishing up those last minute tasks that pop up every single year & still have not made my first gift tag for the family!

So we are beginning now so that on Christmas Eve when those last minute tasks loom in front of us...our gifts will be wrapped using our own handmade tags. And what better way to begin our holiday preparations than to use up some scrap paper to make our tags.

We have a perfect stamp and die set this year to create our tags---it's the Christmas Labels bundle...here's what that looks like...

Screenshot 2024-10-02 115631
This is truly a useful set not just for our tags but also for our cards & other projects this year...so  great set on have on hand from beginning to end.

Here's today' tag...

Large

Isn't this an awesome base? I love scrolly fancywork and this has it in spades.  The fun part is that the fanciness is already built into the die and it runs through the die machine like a champ. If you use the die brush & foam mat (#149655) before you take it out of the die--you'll also reduce the amount of small bits you need to remove by hand..

The absolute super part of this bundle is that this perfect greeting is designed to fit right in that die cut. We chose to use Real Red ink on our white tag....but you can vary the tag base &  ink to create innumerable combos to fit your wrapping papers.

The cute little peppermint dots are just perfect to add that extra special touch to this tag. Of course, you can use a ton of other embellishments to adorn your creations--what's in your embellishment bin?

One of my favorite wrapping papers that I have on hand for the holidays is silver and white--so I'm envisioning using white cardstock and Boho Blue in for some fantastic coordination.

Now in about an hour--you can crank out nearly all the tags you'll be needing for the holiday AND use up your scraps to do so.

Stop back Thursday to see out next Christmas tag...and a great idea too!

Creating Another Halloween or Fall Card Using the Scenic Pumpkin Patch Stamps

Today we're Creating Another Halloween or Fall Card Using the Scenic Pumpkin Patch Stamps. Tuesday we created a cutie with this stamp set. If you missed it check it out here Click here to see Tuesday's card.

We're continuing to use the same stamp set...

Thumbnail_IMG_8459Here's today's creation...

Vanilla a bit closer peek...

Vanilla cu

The designer paper layered on the Vanilla cardbase is from the Flowering Zinnias DSP--this is one  of my favorite pieces in that set of papers & it works just beautifully with the pumpkin images.

The designer paper has Lemon Lolly stars so we selected this color for our stitched circle on which to place our focal point.

The pumpkins are stamped in Pumpki pie on this Lemon Lolly cardstock & the lemon shows through the pumpkins giving the highlights a very pretty "shine." As we did on Tuesday we were able to add the stems & leaves in Old Olive with a separate stampe.

We used the 'friend' from the Everyday Greetings set & stamped with Stazon Saddle Brown on Very vanilla cardstock.  We added mini dimensionals to pop it up giving it some definition.

Adding the Dark Pumpkin Pie Blend to the Basic Rhineston Jewels is such fun that we used this technique again for today's card. Color & sparkle at one time!

Stop back next week to see what we're up to!

Simple & Sweet Halloween or Just Fall Cards Using Scenic Pumpkin Patch Stamps

This week we're exploring Simple & Sweet Halloween or Just Fall Cards Using Scenic Pumpkin Patch Stamps. Sometimes we need Halloween greetings and sometime we don't--so I like to build a card that can be used for both purposes.

This is the stamp set we're using this week....

Thumbnail_IMG_8459

Here's the card we created today...

Pumpkin

Here's a bit closer look...

Pumpkin cu

One of the wonderfu features of this stamp set is that the stems/leaves and the pumpkins are two separate stamps so that we can use appropriate colors instead of having orange stems/leaves or green pumpkins. Since the stamps are photopolymer--they are easily used to add the green stems to the top of the pumpkins.

We've layered the Peach Pie designer paper (2024-2026 In Color DSP) on the Pumpkin Pie cardstock base leaving a strip down the middle of the card to insert a strip of Very Vanilla cardstock on which we do our stamping.

The greeting is from a set of verses, Everyday Greetings, an Online Exclusive product. I love this script with our pumpkin images.

We've colored the Basic Rhinestone Jewels with Dark Pumpkin Pie Blend to give us that rich embellishment and tons of sparkle.

Using Larger Paper Scraps for Handmade Cards

Today we're Using Larger Paper Scraps for Handmade Cards. Tuesday we were creating with 1" strips of designer paper...if you missed it check it out here Click here to see Tuesday's card.

Again, we're using the Flowering Zinnia Designer paper

Screenshot 2024-09-18 111835

Here's today's featured card...

Mambo

and a closer look at the focal point...

Mambo cu

The central square is using the color on color Melon Mambo paper from the set...the square is 3 X 3 which is slightly larger than we've been using, however, it is a size that shows up in our scrap bin quite frequently.

Today's design is a simple card but that's what makes it so useful--you can use almost any designer scrap for a card like this.

As our base we selected the matching Melan Manbo cardstock and we embossed an overlayer with the Dashing Designs folder. This is one of those great designs that is "all over" but doesn't really pop out at you--it stays in the background.

Our true focal point is one of the larger Paper Butterflies--of course, you could use any of the sizes and shapes in this set. Another reason this is such a useful card design.

The greeting is from the Simply Said set--great versatility and simple scripts. So this card is also super for using any of these greetings.

Hope you enjoyed this series of posts...stop by next week to see what we are up to!

Using Up Paper Scraps to Make Handmade Cards

Today we're Using Up Paper Scraps to Make Handmade Cards. For a couple of weeks we've been creating some great cards with designer paper and learning some neat tips & tricks to use up our scraps. This is our final week of this series with 2 more super fun and easy cards.

The designer paper we're using this week is the Flowering Zinnia Designer Series Paper--it's one of the most colorful and vibrant papers with which we are currently working...

Screenshot 2024-09-18 111835

Here is today's card...

Olive

& a bit closer look...

Olive cu

The Flowering Zinnia DSP is wonderfully coordinated with colors and designs which made our scrap selections quite easy for today's creation.  The ones we chose were small designs with great blending colors.  The strips were so easy--I'm sure your scrap bin has tons of 1" strips! You can even use designs from different designer paper series.

We layered these strips on Lemon Lime Twist and underlayed all with the Old Olive base card.

One of the design colors was Lemon Lolly which is quite light making it great for stamping our greeting.

Then our focal accent is the adorable Paper Butterfly. As you know these arrive in white and this makes them absolutely perfect for shading any color to  match your current project. We daubered this one with Pumpkin Pie ink and they "painted" it with gold Metallic Enamel Effects--that gives it a lovely shiny rich sheen. This was then embellished with 3 sparkly rhinestones and the card is ready for sending!
