Another Card Using Designer Paper Scraps

Today we're creating Another Card Using Designer Paper Scraps. Tuesday we used 6 designs of paper to create our card--if you missed it check it out here Click to see Tuesday's card.

We are using the same pack of designer paper, Take a Bow, for our scraps on todays card...actually you could use all the designs in this pack to make today's cards...it is a super versatile set of designer paper.

Tree

With a closer look

Tree cu

Today's design is very simple--just select 2 pieces from your scraps---either the same design or use coordinating designs.  We chose to use the same design at top and bottom.

The center white piece is perfect for stamping a focal point and your greeting. We stamped the tree from Peaceful Evergreens and then layered on the greeting. It was cut from red cardstock (Christmas labels). We then stamped Merry in red and hand cut this to layer over the trees to give it a nice scrip appearance.

The trees are topped with gold stars and we've sparkled it up with small rhinestones.

Stop back next week to see what we're up to!

Using Up Your Designer Paper Scraps

Today we're going to have fun Using Up Your Designer Paper Scraps! If you are a paper crafter you understand that we all accumulate tons of Designer paper scraps...that we just can't throw away---because we might need them one day! Sound familiar? Of course it does.

So this week we're designing some fun cards using our scraps.  I'm using up some scraps I have from the new pack Take a Bow...this was designed to create those cute gift bows...but I love it for card-making because you get 12 sheets of each design (2/side = 8 designs)...this is wonderful when you are making more than one card...you have plenty to create multiple of a design

Here's the DSP

This is today's card...

Multi

& a closer look...

Multi cuThis card begins with a red base and a layer of white.  Ths white between our rectangles gives us that crisp definition between the designs just perfectly.

You can see how this designer paper fits this type of card so well...all the designs are small and the colors all blend together so nicely. Just a perfect set for using multiple deisgns for a card.  We've only used 3 of the papers--front and back to give us the 6 coordination colors & designs in this creation.

Our focal point is a row of trees stamped in the white space as a background. Over the trees we've stamped our greeting in Real Red to make it pop nicely.

Then just a touch of sparkle with the 3 small rhinestones!

What a fun and simple card---imagine how many of your scraps you can use in a card design like this!

Stop back Thursday to see another stunner!

Another Fun Trick with Leftover Strips of Designer Paper to Create Fun Cards

Today we're learning Another Fun Trick with Leftover Strips of Designer Paper to Create Fun Cards.  Tuesday we designed a birthday card just using strips of designer paper. If you missed it check it out here  Click here to see Tuesday's card.

We're creating this week with the Regals papers---all 10 family colors in the pack and 4 designs (2 different sheets with a design on the front & back of both).

Here's today's card...

Blue

& a closer peak...

Blue cu

As with Tuesday's card we are cutting strips again..multiple widths in differing designs...the trick is that we are not cutting diagonal strips--we're just applying them diagonally.

We cut all 4 designs in a different width from 3/4 upto 1". These are then layered diagonally on a base rectangle so they cover the entire surface of the base...the parts that hang over the edges are trimmed with paper snips so you end up with clean edges all around.

The circle label is from the Spotlight on Nature as is the "thanks" greeting.

Then we underline the greeting using Blueberry Tinsel Gems (4 pack).

Stop back next week to see what we're up to!

More Tricks Using Double Sided Designer Paper to Create Fun Cards

Today we're learning More Tricks Using Double Sided Designer Paper to Creat Fun Cards.  The Regal Family designer paper is our selection for this week's cards...it has 4 designs per color --in all 10 colors.  This time of year I tend to linger in the warmer earthtones than my usual Subtle shaded.

Here's the set of papers

& today's card...

Curry

a closer look...

Curry cu

Each sheet has 2 designs (front & back) giving a total of 4 designs per color.  In today's card we are using the front & back of both sheets--thus all 4 designs. This is such a simple design & with 10 different colors--you can create a lovely rainbow of cards using this simple formula.

The Vanilla base is mellow with our Crushed Curry. We cut strips of differing width but the same length (4").  These are layered on a vanilla base that is exactly 4" long but allows us to leave about 1/8" between the strips.

The circles are created with Spotlight in Nature dies. The greeting is from Poised Peony & fits a circle label quite nicely. The under stamped leaves are from the Changing Leaves stamp set (Online Exclusive) in Crushed Curry (see below for the secret tip for this lighter curry color).

Last but never least we used the sparkly Opal Rounds with one of them outside the circle which ties it all together.

Stop back Thursday to see another stunner!

The Iconic bundle and the designer paper are all Online Exclusives...this only means that they are shown in the online store and not in the catalog--but you can purchase them any way that you currently place orders.

As you will remember Tuesday we cut diagonlly through two pieces of designer paper--one was from right to left and the other from left to right.

The reason we cut them in opposite directions was to be able to re-orient our card front in the opposite direction...so here's our card for today...

PecanFor this card the major image, the acorns & leaves, are in the lower left section while the coordinating paper is in the upper right...it's fun to swith things up sometimes.

When we did this the orientation of the tag with the greeting seemed more visually appealing if it were horizontal instead of on the diagonal.

I'll give you step by step directions for today's project below followed by the supply list.

Using Designer Paper with Iconic Images Stamps & Dies to Make Cards

Today we're Using Designer Paper with Iconic Images Stamps & Dies to Create Cards. For the last couple of weeks we've been using Designer Papers in fun ways. This week we're combining a new Designer Paper with a coordinating new set of stamps and dies.

Here's the new stamps & dies

And here are the 2 pieces of designer paper we're using from the Iconic Celebration DSP set---dots are reverse side of the acorns and the plaid is on the reverse side of the pumpkins...we are coordinating them as shown below for our cards this week.

Copper dsp Pecan dsp
The reason we're looking at 2 sheets of paper it thar our design this week uses half of one sheet and half of the other to create the card for today and Thursday.

Here's today's card...

CopperThe Iconic set has images for several seasons and occasions during the year.  Since it is September I saw the pumpkins and decided this was our focal point but wanted a coordinating piece to go with it...as I was thumbing through the series I saw the dotted sheet that was perfect.

I wanted a simple design since we are frequently in a rush...so I chose to cut the paper in diagonal halves to provide interest.

The Celebrate greeting is wonderful for so many occasions we used that as our verse stamped in the coordinating ink on a die cut from this die set.

Of course using the Sparkle Dots always adds that touch of charm to the card.

I'll give you step by step directions for today's project below followed by the supply list.

Stop by Thursday and see what we do with the DSP for another creation!

Another Tip & Trick for Using Designer Paper for Card-making

Today we're discovering another Tip & Trick for Using Designer Paper for Card-making. Tuesday we created a really fun card by stamping directly on the designer paper...if you missed it check it out here Click here to see Tuesday's Card.

Again, today we're using the Peach Pie designer paper from the 2024-2026 In Color DSP pack--so many pretty colors to choose from!

Screenshot 2024-08-21 121854

Here's today's feature...

Circle

And a closer peak...

Circle cuUsing the same Peach Pie base and overlay...this time the overlay was dry embossed with the Dashing Designs embossing folder (in the annual catalog).

We selected the Peach Pie designer paper with the small circles this time and die cut that lovely decorative circle (Spotlight on Nature) for our focal point. Now here's the fun Tip and Trick...we stamped the leaves outline image (also Spotlight on Nature) in Memento ink directly on the designer paper AND, then we colored the image with our Blends..because of the design we chose---a bit subtle & not overpowering... the image and the coloring do not show through. Isn't that an awesome focal point?

We added an under circle with a different decorative edge and lets the first circle show through the edging quite nicely.

The Textured Dots keep with the autumn theme as does the black twine bow on the leaf stem.

The 'thanks' was stamped on a coordinating Pumpkin label and popped up with dimensionals.

Stop by next Tuesday for our newest creation!

Tips & Tricks of Using Designer Paper in Card-making

Today we're discovering more Tips & Tricks of Using Desinger Paper in Card-making. Today's designer paper is the 2024-2026 In Color DSP....

Screenshot 2024-08-21 121854

Here's today's creations....

Wheat

& a bit closer look at the focal point...

Wheat cu

We selected the Peach Pie cardstock as our base and then nabbed the striped design of the same color from the In Color DSP pack.  The base was covered with a Peach layer embossed with the Painted Texture folder--it's a nice texture but doesn't overpower the focal point--it stays in the background.

We did an underlayer for the DSP in Pumpkin Pie (sounds like a bakery here, right? all these pies) which adds a bit of contrast and makes that designer paper pop.

Now we used the wheat and greeting from the Autumn Expressions stamp set (new one in the Holiday mini that is available tomorrow!). We chose the wheat for it's solid image...didn't need any coloring and coordiates well with the greeting.

We topped the wheat with the black twine bow that sets it off nicely. The Textured Dots embellishments were just the best final touch.

I'll give you step by step directions for today's project below followed by the supply list.

Stop by Thursday and see what we do with the DSP for another creation!
