a bit closer...

Slice cu

When I think of summertime, picnics, & watermelon I think of gingham..so that sparked the use of this pattern in our background today. The Glorious Gingham design in Lemon Lime Twist was just the perfect pairing.

The card base was covered with a layer using the cane weave folder--again reminiscent of summer & wicker chairs in the backyard--another great pairing!

The end view of the melon was punched out with the Modern Oval punch the melon wedge was simply hand cut with the paper snips--a pretty simple cut.

The greeting is from Nature's Print (annual catalog) and was a relaxed sentiment that fits the mood of this card.

A couple of black dots finshed off the focal point coordinating with the black watermelon seeds.

Stop by Thursday to see February's Free Card Kit!

Here's a bit closer look...

Whole cuCan you just taste that sweet melon as you bite into that slice...juice running down your chin & spitting out the seeds? Ahh, summertime...it's not toooo far away so let's get those summer cards ready as we shiver in our stamping space right now!! We'll dream of warmer days.

The really "sweet" deal with this stamp set is that the melon is punchable with the Modern Oval punch. And when you position the side melon view--you can punch that out too!

We began the card using strips of embossed cardstock in multiple greens that pep up the background from just plain white.

The melon and slice are stamped with Garden Green and Sweet Sorbet inks. The leaf is stamped with Granny Apple Green which coordinates with the Granny & Lemon Lime in the background.

The super cute spiral border at the top is die cut using a die in the Gorgeously Made die set... cute, simple & relaxed...just like summer should be.

I'll give you step by step directions for today's project below followed by the supply list.

Creating with SAB Free Softly Sophisticated Bundle & the Secret of the Freesia Ribbon

Today we're Creating with SAB Free Softly Sophisticated Bundle & the Screct of the Freesia Ribbon! Last Thursday we used this set to create a lovey & quick card. If you missed it check it out here...Click to See Thursday's Card

Today we're using the same FREE Bundle in another stylish way PLUS we'll be showing you a sweet Freesia and silver ribbon you haven't seen before!!!

Here's today' card...

Freesia

& here's a closer view..

Freesia cu

As you can see we used the softly sophisticated folder again for this card...another example of how well this folder adds pizzazz but doesn't overpower your design.

The white stamped layer was die cut using one of the Perennial Postage dies...isn't that just the cutest! What a difference that makes to the overall appearance of the card.

Now remember I promised to tell you the secret of the Freesia & silver ribbon. This ribbon is the Silver & White Sheer ribbon we had in the Holiday mini catalog this past fall. It carried over so we can still use it & purchase it! So--where'd the Freesia come from? We laid the ribbon on a scrap paper & used a dauber to rub over the ribbon with Freesia ink. The more you rub on the darker the color gets---so you control the depth of color you get. Now you know how to get any color ribbon you need to coordinate with your projects!

The center of our flowers are the Purple Fine Shimmer dots--these are new in the Spring mini catalog & come in 3 shades to match your project.

I'll give you step by step directions for today's project below followed by the supply list.

Stop by Thursday to see another project created with a Sale-a-bration Freebie!

Use this month's regular host code (A4UDHEAK)  you can earn $5 in Stampin'Up! product (I choose) for every $50 in product (excludes shipping & tax).

1. Cut Thick Basic White cardstock 8 1/2 X 5 1/2, score long side at 4 1/4 (card base)

2. Cut Basic White cardstock 4 X 5 1/4; put through Softly Sophisticated folder
*Cut approx 14" Silver & White Sheer ribbon; using a dauber rub Fresh     Freesia ink gently over the sheer portion until you like the resulting color.
*Wrap ribbon around embossed layer approximately 1 1/2" from bottom and tie in knot approximately 1" from left side.
*Adhere this layer to card front.

3. Cut Basic White CS with postage die (2 X2 3/4):
*Stamp large leaf stem in Shaded Spruce ink & flowers in Fresh Freesia.

Creating with Stampin'Up! Sale-a-bration FREE Softly Sophisticated Stamps & Embossing Folder

Today we're Creating with Stampin'Up! Sale-a-bration FREE Softly Sophisticated Stamps & Embossing Folder. This set is just that --a soft design and is combined with a totally beautiful embossing folder.  I'm almost sorry that it's SAB and won't carry over for years of use in our current projects & classes.

Here's ths stamp set and folder...

Screenshot 2024-01-04 183345

This is our card for today...

Sorbet

& here's a closer look...

Sorbet cu

Did you check out that stunning embossing in the background. It's a lovely design but it also stays in the background and let's the eye remain focused on the primary image.

This set is a 2-step stamp set so that we can have our stems/leaves and flowers in different colors...this makes stamping with multiple colors a breeze.

Hint: I usually stamp the leaves first and then the flowers--just my preference. When I stamp the flowers over the leaves I try to line up 3 points---if 3 points are in line then the remainder of the image falls into place. Most of thes 2-step stamps have a bit of leniency and perfection is not a requirement for a beautiful card.

The vase is created with the Countryside Corners die....we just simply cut the cardstock approximately the size we need for the vase and then die cut the base.

You'll see that we also used the deckled rectangle die for he focal layer---this adds a bit of interest that you don't see with a straight cut!

I'll give you step by step directions for today's project below followed by the supply list.

Stop by Tuesday to see another card created with this lovely bundle!

Cradled in love stamp set

Here's our last card using this set...

PetalFor this card we used the 'crosshatch' embossing folder for our background. It's another one of those folders that gives lots of interest but doesn't overpower the focal point. This is one of 3 folders in the Basic 3D folders (an online Exclusive product).

The two underlayers are from a new set of designer paper, Bee Mine, appearing in the new Stampin'Up! spring mini (Jan-Apr)! These add a touch of pizzazz and charm to the focal point.

In this card we've added the mobile to the cradle--it's actually 2 pieces the arch and then the hanging toys...very easy to "assemble."

This is one of those cards you can build a stash to have on hand because the greetings include girl and boy verses so you can easily switch them for your needs.

Check back Thursday --we'll be starting a new series with another Sale-a-bration stamp set!

I'll give you step by step directions for today's project below followed by the supply list.

Another Cutie Using the Free Sale-a-bration Cradled in Love Stamp Set

Today we're creating Another Cutie Using the Free Sale-a-bration Cradled in Love Stamp Set. Tuesday we designed a very simple card using this set...if you missed it check it out here Click to see Tuesday's card.

Cradled in love stamp set

This fun little set has some updated stamps that make it easy to create a stash to have on hand regardless of whether it's a girl or a boy baby celebration!

Here's today's card...

Daffodil

Using the Daffodil Delight base definitely makes this great for either boy or girl. I love the rug on which to situate the cradle, can't you just feel the fluffy nap between your toes and you wiggle them in it?

Instead of popping the toys in the bed we are stacking them along the right side and layering the individual squares on Parakeet Party thus keeping the color coordination unisex.

The background layer of Daffodil is dry embossed using the Timeworn Type embossing folder--a nice textured effect without a large design to with which to contend.

The accent stars are from a new embellishment set in the Stampin'Up! spring (Jan-Apr) mini catalog called Adhesive backed Lightning & Stars.

This universal baby stamp set can be free to you with any $50 purchase during January & February. It's one of the Sale-a-bration Free products during these months only.

I'll give you step by step directions for today's project below followed by the supply list.

Thursdays card a bit closer....

THursday's card cuAside from the new stamp set we are using a couple of other new items in the spring mini.

First we're using the designer paper from the Poetic Expressions--as you can see this is a very lovely design to use for backgrounds--it's an all-over pattern with some tinges of Bubble Bath sprinkled in the Moody Mauve design.  Great for overlaying with your focal point because it doesn't overpower your design.

We're also using the greeting from the new Thoughtful Moment Hybrid folder & dies. This greeting is only one of several that we use tons of times during the year. These are die cuts with dry embossed verses..so quick and so useful!

The sweet bow is the Bubble Bath ribbon edged in silver--matching the silver foil used for the greeting.

We've embellished with the Bubble Bath sequins (Pastel Sequins) tieing it all together!

I'll give you step by step directions for today's project below followed by the supply list.
