A Quick & Easy Thank You Card Using Your Designer Series Paper

Today we're creating A Quick & Easy Thank You Card Using Your Designer Series Paper. You've enjoyed receiving gifts or experiences over the holidays and it's now time to say "Thanks" to those who thought of you this year.

We also want to make these lovely but quick because we're now ready to face a new year and (if you are like me) you have tons on the ToDo list!.

Here's today's card...

Thank you cardand a bit closer..

Thx card cuWe are using that lovely Balmy Blue snowflake design from the Walk in the Forest Designer Series Paper.  Since the snowflakes design will last us a couple more months--you don't want to stash it away yet!

To make this a simple card we simply split the DSP into 2 strips and used the verse which is a gorgeous curly script from the Go To Greetings set. We stamped and embossed in white to coordiate nicely with the white snowflakes.

The embellishments are the Adhesive backed Snowflake Assortment (Online Exclusives) and they blend quite well with the snowflakes in our DSP. To add just a touch more of sparkle we popped a small rhinestone in the center of each!

I'll give you step by step directions for today's project below followed by the supply list.

Stop by and see us next week!

Remember:

*Use this month's regular host code (YT24ZYUC)  you can earn $5 in Stampin'Up! product (I choose) for every $50 in product (excludes shipping & tax).

Directions:

1. Cut Balmy Blue cardstock 8 1/2 X 5 1/2, score long side at 4 1/4 (card base).

2. Cut Basic White cardstock 4 1/8 X 5 3/8; adhere to card front.

3. Cut two strips of snowflake design (Walk in the Woods DSP) 1 3/8 X 5 1/4; adhere to top and bottom of white layer leaving 1/16" border around outside edges.

4. Cut Balmy Blue cardstock 1 1/8 X 5 1/4:

*Stamp verse (Go To Greetings) in White Craft Ink; sprinkle with White embossing powder and heat with heat tool until shiny white.

*Adhere 1 large, 1 medium and 1 small white snowflake around verse (Adhesive backed Snowflake Assortment); add a small rhinestone to the center of each.

*Adhere this to the middle of the card leaving 1/16 border all around.

Week #6 (Part 2) Christmas Creating Super Fast Swinging Tree Tag with Stampin'Up! Merriest Tree Dies

Today we're in Week #6 (Part 2) Christmas Creating Super Fast Swinging Tree Tag with Stampin'Up! Merriest Trees Dies. Tuesday we creates a sweet little angle ornament/tag...if you missed it check it out here Click to see angel.

Today we are getting very very close to Christmas and we have a very short time to wind up our gift wrapping. So today we're creating a darling swinging tree gift tag....

DecoratedNow here's what it looks like with the parts all swinging...

Swinging

Is that just not the cutest...and the best part is that you can whip out about 20 of these in no time.

The Merriest Trees die set has 4 sizes of trees and they all overlay one another. For this one I used the 3 smaller trees--but if you want to go larger---use the 3 larger trees--you'll have the same effect but for a larger package!

We used Shaded Spruce, Pool Party (because is has a bit of blue to coordinate with the Spruce) and, of course, the More Dazzle for the top layer. If you're out of Dazzle you can simply use white for a snow covered look.

The 3 teirs are tied together at the top with the hanging loop and then a bow is added for a fun finishing touch.

Directions:

1. Die cut the 3rd smallest tree (Merriest Trees Dies) from Shaded Spruce cardstock.

2. Die cut the 2nd smallest tree from Pool Party cardstock.

3. Die cut the smallest tree from the More Dazzle (silver) paper.

4. Hold all three layered together with the tops of the trees aligned; using a 1/8" hole punch punch through all 3 layers.

5. Cut approximately 9" silver cord (Simply Elegant Trim); loop through hole and tie ends in a knot by wrapping around your finger near the end and tucking the ends through.

6. Cut approximately 7" of silver cord, tie in a bow and adhere over the hole with a glue dot.

Your tag is ready for giving!

Week #6 Christmas Creating 10 Minute Deckled Angel Ornament or Tag

Today we're in Week #6 Creating a 10 Minute Deckled Angel Ornament or Tag! Those 6 weeks flew by and here we are at the last minutes before Christmas and anything we do must be super quick and easy!  That's just what we are doing with this cute as can be Angel Ornament.

Here's what she looks like...

Angel useA close look reveals that she is made completey from circles---and all but one of them is from the Deckled Circle die set (the other one is the face and that one is from the Reach for the Stars dies).

Her gown is cut from the Snowflake Magic Designer Series Paper &, of course, uses one of the larger dies. (The largest in the set is about 6"--this is definitely a staple tool to have on hand.)

Her wings are cut from the Holographic paper. Her halo had to have lots of sparkle and that meant diving into the More Dazzle paper (it doesn't get any sparklier).

The neck bow uses the Silver & White Sheer ribbon and, happily, this is carrying over so we'll have this gorgeousness for a bit longer.

The buttons of her gown are the Pool Party Faceted Gems Trio and add just a touch of color to the silver and white ensemble.

I'll give you step by step directions for today's project below followed by the supply list.

Stop by Thursday to see what project we'll be creating quickly and easily.

Remember:

*Use this month's regular host code (YT24ZYUC)  you can earn $5 in Stampin'Up! product (I choose) for every $50 in product (excludes shipping & tax).

Directions:

2. Fold the circle in approximate 1/3" as shown below

Tape4. Cut approximately 8" silver cord (Simply Elegant Trim), tie knot at the 2 ends and adhere to the tape where my forefinger is pointing. Then remove the topping from where my thumb is pointing and close the left side of circle and then right side of circle thus taping the body together.

5. Die cut the wings (2 3/8" diameter circle) from Holographic paper; adhere with Tear & Tape to back of body.

Wings & hanger

6. Die cut halo (1 3/4 diameter) from More Dazzle; die cut face (1 1/2 diam Reach the Stars). Draw eyes with black marker and adhere face to halo with tape. Use tape to adhere this unit to neck.

Week #5 (Part 2) Christmas Simple & Quick Using Stampin'Up! Winter Meadows Designer Series Paper

Today we're continuing Week #5 (Part 2) Christmas Simple & Quick Using Stampin'Up! Winter Meadows Designer Series Paper. Tuesday we used this same set of papers to create a very quick and lovely card..if you missed it check it out here Click here to see Tuesday's card.

Today we're selecting another pattern from the gorgeous set os papers....here's today's card...

Deer

and a little closer...

Deer cu

Today's beauty is the watercolor snowy woods with deer images embedded. The sheets used for this card are designed to cut into 4 or 6 cards depending on vertical or horizontal orientation. This kind of design makes our job very quick.

We simpy split up the design into 3 panels separated slightly to add some interest but still maintaining the continuity of the "scene" in the paper.

To spice up the entire card front we use Real Red ink for the greeting which is just enough color power to avoid being all black/white/gray. The touch of silver foil behind the greeting pops it to the forefront. And adding three silver Festive Pearls on the upper right assures keeping the interest moving.

Note: this card is one of those designs that can be used for birthday, thank you, thinking of you, just a note...and the list goes on. So make a few of these without adding the verse until the need arises--then add a quick greeting for the specific occasion.

I'll give you step by step directions for today's project below followed by the supply list.

Stop by next week to see what project we'll be creating quickly and easily...it will be the week before Christmas!!!

Week #5 Christmas Simple & Quick Using Stampin'Up! Winter Meadow Designer Series Paper

We're now back to Week #5 Christmas Simple & Quick Using Stampin'Up! Winter Meadow Designer Series Paper. We took a week off of our 6-Week Christmas Series for the Free card kit for December but we're back on track for Christmas today!

By now we're all getting a bit anxious if we don't have our ducks in a row for Christmas--and, seriously---if we're telling the truth--most of us are still struggling a bit. So this week we are concentrating on quick & simple...but still gorgeous.

Here's the card for today...

Noel& a bit closer...

Noel cu

The major design work is all done for you in the beautifully choreographed dance of multiple greenery and berries on a field of white snow! Touches of Berry Burst in the stems and blue berries all painted in a winter watercolor scape.

We then layered NOEL on a vellum bed in order to depress the background images so they do not overwhelm the lettering of the greeting.

Then just to insert a bit of flare we added 3 large gold Bloomin' Pearls.

It just doesn't get any simpler and more beautiful than that--and super quick!

I'll give you step by step directions for today's project below followed by the supply list.

Stop by Thursday to see what project we'll be creating quickly and easily.

Creating Another Beauty Using Stampin'Up! Translucent Florals Bundle & Secrets to Great Images

Today's creation...

Thurs cardcloser...

Thur cuThese stunning images are created with millions of tiny dots....when stamping you may encounter larger dots at times. This doesn't detract from the image but if you  prefer smaller dots...here are 4 Secrets to great images.

*Use ink pad that is not super inked (too much ink gets into the spaces & coalesces into larger dots)
*If your ink pad is heavily inked, use "stamp off" technique to remove a bit of the ink before stamping final image.
*When inking stamp--don't push stamp into ink pad--use the tap, tap, tap technique (not pound, pound, pound)--this loads stamp with sufficient ink but not overloading.
*When stamping image--use only moderate pressure--don't squish stamp onto cardstock--moderate pressure delivers just right amount of ink.

The background for this card is lightly textured with the Timeworn Type embossing folder & a lovely design from Inked Botanicals DSP to layer the stamped die cut images.  The bit of gold shine is a sprig found in the Magical Meadow die set.  Lastly it's "tied" all together with the Calypso braided twine (NOT carrying over --nab it now!).

Stop back next Tuesday to contnue our 6 Weeks of Christmas--Week 4!
