Hbd

& and little closer look...

Hbd cuThe multi-colored bubbles of the designer paper form a wonderful array of colors that requires little embellishment.

The fantastic label design is created with the Countryinn Corners dies--a wonderful set of concentric dies that not only is a beautiful shape but also makes layering a complete breeze.

We layered the Happy Birthday (Wanted to Say dies) in Berry Burst softly shimmered paper over white to simply boost the contrast. Adding two silver stars and the brilliantly sparklng rhinestons...that's all we need to complete this eye-catching birthday wish...this card is terrific for anyone--guys, gals, teens, kids, co-workers!  It's a perfect card to keep in your stash for those days you need a card and have little time to create!

The images in the papers remarkably lend themselves to balloons--thus the Beautiful Balloons dies are a perfect match! Using 3 different papers & the balloon dies, the focal point of this card quickly took form.

Using a dauber & Berry Burst inks we lightly tapped the edges of the die cuts in order to  defie the balloons.

We added a bit of interest with stars cut from  Blueberry Bushel & Azure Afternoon--two of the colors represented in the designer paper.

The starry embossed background is created with one of the three 3D Basic embossing folders (Online Exclusive product).

This card can be whipped up so quickly that you only need about 10 minutes--put this one in the Cute & Quick file for those times when you need a card and have soooo little time!

Notice the lovely corners on both the Lagoon Layer and the Designer paper layer...we used the Very Best Trio corner punch--and they fit together just perfectly. They add that elegant touch ratcheting the card to the next level of charming.

We used the Lost Lagoon Bordered ribbon--coordinating with the design in the paper and the natural look complements the botanical drawing quite well.

We tucked in the greeting behind the ribbon so this could easily be any greeting you need!

Lastly we added the brass butterfliees flitting through the field of flowers---just the perfect embellishment!

A Super Easy Way to Use Scraps from Stampin'Up!'s Delightfully Eclectic Designer Series Paper

Today we're exploring A Super Easy Way to Use Scraps from Stampin'Up!'s Delightfully Eclectic Designer Series Paper. Tuesday we created a little beauty using this paper..if you missed it check it out here  Click here to view Tuesday's project.

Here's today's cutie...

4 rectangle

& a bit closer view...

4 rect cu

What makes this such a simple design is that the stripes are on the backside of the floral design sheet of dsp. So for this beauty you simply cut 2 squares 1 7/8 X 1 7/8 and 2 rectangles 1 7/8 X 3 1/8. Flip one of each size to the reverse side and adhere them to the base...it just can't be easier!

The greeting comes from the Wanted to Say dies. These have a shadow to the verse and then a die that cuts the overlth greeting. This is what we used on Tuesday's card. Today we're just using the greeting overlay. This set also includes some small accessory pieces like the flower & stem used for this card.

Stop by next week and see another way to use those scraps.

I'll give you step by step directions for today's card below followed by the supply list.

Remember:

*If you use this month's host code ( (CJD9AH46)) you can earn $5 in Stampin'Up! product (I choose) for every $50 in product that you order (excludes shipping & tax).

1. Cut Thick Basic White cardstock 8 1/2 X 5 1/2, score long side at 4 1/4 (card base).

2. Cut Bubble Bath cardstock 4 X 5 1/4; adhere to card front.

3. Cut two pieces of designer paper 1 7/8 X 1 7/8 and two pieces 1 7/8 X 3 1/8; flip one piece of each size to the reverse side.

*Adhere these as shown in the photo to the Bubble Bath layer

4. Die cut Happy Birthday (Wanted to Say Dies) from Garden Green cardstock; adhere this to the upper right rectangle.

5. Die cut the stem from Garden Green cardstock; die cut the flower from Berry Burst cardstock. Adhere the stem with glue and the flower withe a dimensional to the lower left square.

Fun Way to Use Scraps of Stampin'Up! Delightfully Eclectic Designer Series Paper

Today I'll show you a Fun Way to Use Scraps of Stampin'Up! Delighfully Eclectic Designer Series Paper! If you are a typical paper crafter you find yourself swimming in leftover scraps after you complete your projects. One of the fun ways to whittle away at that pile is to use them in constructing another project, right?

Here's today's card using scraps of Delightfully Eclectic DSP

Squares

& a bit closer look...

Squares cuThis is a super easy card because you are simply cutting squares of the designer paper.  Don't let the diagonal placement scare you off---thers's a simple method that makes this so easy that a elementary student could easily do it--that means I can do it...super complicated designs are not my forte.

Here's the secret...on the layer to which you will be adhering the squares...simply draw a pencil line using a ruler from the upper left corner to the lower right corner. Then begin adhering pieces with the side adjacent to the line leaving approximately 1/8" between the squares.   When you reach the end of one row roughly snip off some of the excess to fill in the smaller squares at the ends of the rows.

I used one design on this card but it would be fun to try mixing designs and see what results!

Remember, Designer Series Paper is on sale through the month of June.  This particular pack is now only $25.50 (usually $30) It contains 48 sheets (12 different papers with 2 designs per page = 24 designs to play with)!

Stop by Thursday and see another way to use those scraps.

I'll give you step by step directions for today's card below followed by the supply list.

Remember:

*If you use this month's host code  (CJD9AH46)  you can earn $5 in Stampin'Up! product (I choose) for every $50 in product that you order (excludes shipping & tax).

Directions:

1. Cut Thick Basic White cardstock 8 1/2 X 5 1/2, score long side at 4 1/4 (card base).

2. Cut Bubble Bath cardstock 4 x 5 1/4; adhere to card base.

3. Cut Basic White cardstock 3 7/8 X 5 1/8:

*Pencil a diagonal line from upper left to lower right corner

    *Cut approximately 10 squares of designer paper 1 1/2 X 1 1/2

*Begin on either side of the line to adhere these squares with the side aligned with the pencil line. (Note: for the moment just leave the excess there unless you can use it to fill in a small area at the end of the rows.)

*Repeat this process making the next line of squares align positioned next to the previous square leaving 1/8" between them...the resulting front side should look like this..

Front

*Turn the layer over & with your paper snips trim the dsp next to the white layer...

Back    *Adhere this to the Bubble Bath layer.

4. Die cut Celebrate (Wanted to Say Dies) shadow from Garden Green cardstock; die cut the overlay from Bubble Bath--adhere to the shadow layer & attach to card front with dimensionals.

Another Quick Way to Use your Stampin'Up! Countryside Inn DSP Scraps!

Today we're going to explore Another Quick Way to Use your Stampin'Up! Countryside Inn DSP Scraps! Tuesday we created a real cutie, if you missed it check it out here Click here to see Tuesday's creation.

Here's today's quick design...

Patchwork 2The trick used for today's card---that makes is so quick is that it is created with one small piece of designer paper--that's right...we took one piece of dsp, made two cuts and we have the lovely designs for this card.

One of the great features of Stampin'Up! DSP is that each piece has 2 designs (front and back) and with this specific pack the front & back designs coordinate perfectly.  So we simply flipped 2 pieces of the 4 resulting smaller pieces to create this coordinating patchwork.

As for secret to choosing the card base and layering colors--that too is made super easy with SU DSP--just look at the colors in the pieces you have selected for your card and you'll have it nailed! Pick 2 or 3 of those colors and you can't go wrong. Let the experts do your color coordination! It will make you look like a pro!

And remember...the designer series paper sale runs until 6/30/23! But don't delay--it's while supplies last!!

Patchwork 1

I've always loved patchwork quilts--the technique of putting together different colors & patterns to see that overall gorgeous result at the end. Using your scraps of designer paper is very much like that--except using glue instead of a needle & thread.

Now the thing about using designer paper is that you don't have to spend hours in a fabric store searching for coordinating colors and designs--Stampin'Up! has done this for you. You simple pick out your favorites in your scrap stash & they "go together" right away!

Since the Countryside Inn is all in blues I chose the new Misty Moonlight Inner Braid ribbon--it  has a unique white braid running down the center which is a perfect match for our white and blue theme in this card.

Stop by Thursday and see another way to use those scraps.

I'll give you step by step directions for today's card below followed by the supply list.

Another Quick & Easy Beauty with Stampin'Up! Timeless Arrangements Bundle

If you missed it...check it out here and discover how to receive the free card kits...Click here to see the Tuesday's post

Blog post timeless arrangementwith a little closer look...

Blog post cu

We began the creation using one of of the new Core colors, Lemon Lolly. It's a bright crisp yellow that definitely filled an opening in the Stampin'Up! rainbow of colors.

We layered the leafy bar and the daffodil bar of flowers near the bottom of the front layer.  The bars are simply ingenious ways to position the die cuts in fun and quick layers as we've done here with our spruce leaves and the Lemon Lolly daffodils.

We've topped that off by winding the Lemon Lolly sheer silver-edged ribbon around the top layer and tied a sweet bow.

The background of the white layer is embossed with the crosshatch embossing folder that is one of the 3 folders in the Basic 3D embossng folders--one of the Online Exclusive products.

We've topped off all this loveliness with three brushed brass butterflies that are just the right size for our images.
