Creating Another Stunning Card with the New Stampin'Up! Softly Sketched Stamp Set

Today we're Creating Another Stunning Card with the New Stampin'Up! Softly Sketched Stamp Set. Tuesday we created a little black and white cutie...if you missed it check it out here Click here to see Tuesday's card.

Although black and white is quite a striking combo especially with this type of stamp we decided to try out a lovely soft color base to support the image we chose today from the Softly Sketched set. Here's today's card...

As you can see we remained steadfast in using our Stazon black ink. When I have an image that I really want to stand out in "blackness" or has a large surface area...I tend to use the Stazon Jet Black. I find that this ink does a superb job of coverage and appears to be a deep dark black.  However, if you are using the Blends alcohol markers you will be using the Memento Tuxedo black ink to pair with the alcohol in the Blends.

I gravitated back to the crosshatch embossng folder--again, so it would remain in the background but yet add sufficient interest to the card front that it doesn't become boring.

We increased the layers under the image--it's a fun way to highlight an image that really takes minimal time and has a dramatic effect.

Instead of using the matte black dots as we did Tuesday we used a bit of sparkle by adding he Basic Jewel Rhinestones...which add just a bit of glam to the entire image.

Stop back by next week to see our next project.
