Creating a Birthday Card Using Stampin'Up! Bright & Beautiful Notecards & Envelopes

Today we're Creating a Birthday Card Using Stampin'Up! Bright & Beautiful Notecards & Envelooes. Tuesday we created a cute Get Better Soon card with these...if you missed it check it out here Click here to see Tuesday's card

Today we're using the second preprinted design fro the B&B Notecards...this one blends the new colors: Bubble Bath, Lemon Lime Twst and Azure Afternoon. You may have noticed that these colors also predominate in the Bright & Beautiful designer series paper...this creates a collection of products making it super easy to design a card.

Here's todays card...

Brithday

and a bit closer

Brithday cu

Since the background is already so colorful we just began the decorating and embellishments right away.

We cut 2 medium balloons (Beautiful Balloons dies) --one from the designer paper we used on Tuesday and one from Azure cardstock.  A small balloon was die cut from the Berry Burst Soft Shimmer paper...all the balloons were attached to the card front with dimensionals to make them pop up.

We cut two arrays of stars (Wanted to Say dies) from Berry Burst and Granny Apple Green to accentuate the coordinating colors already in the card base and die cuts.

Now here's the super fun part--we die cut the Happy Birthday script from More Dazzle and let me tell you--it doesn't sparkle in the photo but just wait until you see it live and the sparkle is totally awesome!

And the card needed nothing more!

I'll give you step by step directions for today's card below followed by the supply list.

Remember:

*If you use this month's host code (QGV3RVRM) you can earn $5 in Stampin'Up! product (I choose) for every $50 in product that you order (excludes shipping & tax).

Directions:

1. Die cut one medium balloon (Beautiful Balloons dies) from Azure Afternoon cardstock and one from the multi-striped designer paper (Bright & Beautiful.

2. Die cut a small balloon from Berry Burst Soft Shimmer paper; adhere all 3 balloons with dimensionals.

3. Die cut the multi-strings (Beautiful Balloons) from Night of Navy cardstock--adhere under balloons.

4. Die cut an array of stars  (Wanted to Say dies) from Berry Burst and from Granny Apple Green cardstock--adhere around balloons.

5. Die cut Happy Birthday (Wanted to Say dies) from More Dazzle and adhere under balloons at a slight angle.

Creating Fast & Easy with Stampin'Up! Bright & Beautiful Cards & Envelopes

Today you'll be Creating Fast & Easy wtih Stampin'Up! Bright & Beautiful Cards & Envelopes. This is a very pretty set of 20 preprinted card bases with coordinating decorated envelopes...

Capture

There are 10 each of both notecard designs and  both the front and back of the enveloeps are coordinated to accompany these cards. What a great way to begin creating especially when you are running short on time...the base and the color combos are ready for you to add a focal point and greeting....and you'll be ready to send that card in no time.

Here's today's card using the Bubble Bath base...

Feel better& a little closer look...

Feel better cu

We added a layer of Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Paper which complements the color in the notecard we selelcted.

Then we grabbed that bold and fun die set--Wanted to Say. It has all the frequently used greetings..and we chose Feel Better Soon--when you need a Get Well Card you usually need it quickly.  To make the Lemon Lolly script pop--we used an underlayer of Night of Navy---not only does it provide great contrast but it also makes the script "pop up."

Using a couple of star dies from the Beautiful Balloons dies we tucked them in beside the script to provide a bit more interest and pizzazz.

Stop by Thursday and see what else we created with these notecards.

I'll give you step by step directions for today's card below followed by the supply list.

Creating Another Stunning Card with the New Stampin'Up! Softly Sketched Stamp Set

Today we're Creating Another Stunning Card with the New Stampin'Up! Softly Sketched Stamp Set. Tuesday we created a little black and white cutie...if you missed it check it out here Click here to see Tuesday's card.

Although black and white is quite a striking combo especially with this type of stamp we decided to try out a lovely soft color base to support the image we chose today from the Softly Sketched set. Here's today's card...

Cabanaand a bit closer look...

Cabana cu

As you can see we remained steadfast in using our Stazon black ink. When I have an image that I really want to stand out in "blackness" or has a large surface area...I tend to use the Stazon Jet Black. I find that this ink does a superb job of coverage and appears to be a deep dark black.  However, if you are using the Blends alcohol markers you will be using the Memento Tuxedo black ink to pair with the alcohol in the Blends.

I gravitated back to the crosshatch embossng folder--again, so it would remain in the background but yet add sufficient interest to the card front that it doesn't become boring.

We increased the layers under the image--it's a fun way to highlight an image that really takes minimal time and has a dramatic effect.

Instead of using the matte black dots as we did Tuesday we used a bit of sparkle by adding he Basic Jewel Rhinestones...which add just a bit of glam to the entire image.

Stop back by next week to see our next project.

*If you use this month's host code (QGV3RVRM) you can earn $5 in Stampin'Up! product (I choose) for every $50 in product that you order (excludes shipping & tax).

Directions:

1. Cut Coastal Cabana cardstock 8 1/2 X 5 1/2, score long side at 4 1/4 (card base).

Creating Simplicity with the New Stampin'UP! Softly Sketched Stamp Set

Today we're Creating Simplicity with the New Stampin'Up! Softly Sketched Stamp SetThis lovely set was created using the DistINKtive technique that is patented by Stampin'Up! It's one of the types of stamps that I love to use.  Here's the set...

CaptureWhen I selected it today to hightlight in this post I was thinking of using the alcohol blends and applying color to the images. But the longer I played with the set the more I realized that simplicity was key to getting the most from these images...and so...here's today's card...

B&w& a slightly closer look...

B&w cuThe image remains totally strikng without adding any color. The boldness of the black is softened a bit by the "sketching" of the image and it virtually comes off the card in it's 3D appearance.

You may have noticed that lovely backgroud--I call it the crosshatch design. It's one of the Basic  3D folders in the Exclusive Online products. It is my favorite of the three in that set.  It's subtle enough to remain in the background yet impressive enough to add special interest to the card front.

We added the three Classic matte dots around the blossoms to accent the black image on the pure white background.

Stop back by Thursday and see our next card with this set.

If you enjoy the cards we create here on this blog you may also enjoy the cards we create every weekend on our zoom classes...if you are interested in seeing what we are making and want to join us---click on the "Subscribe to my newsletter" button--it's the second button down from the Search bar. Remember:

*If you use this month's host code (QGV3RVRM) you can earn $5 in Stampin'Up! product (I choose) for every $50 in product that you order (excludes shipping & tax).

Directions:

1. Cut Thick Basic White cardstock 8 1/2 X 5 1/2, score long side at 4 1/4 (card base).

2. Cut Basic White cardstock 4 X 5 1/4; put through the crosshatch embossing folder (Basic 3D embossing folder); adhere to card front.

3. Cut Basic White cardstock;

    *4 1/4 X 2
*Stamp image in black ink (I used Stazon Jet Black)
*Adhere 3 small Classic Matte dots (black around stem of flowers--see photo
*Stamp 'hello' in black in near base of stem
*4 1/2 X 2 1/4; adhere to back of above stamped layer with dimensionals; adhere this unit to card front with dimensionals.

Creating Another Lovely Card with Stampin'Up!'s New Lazy Days Stamps & Dies

Today we're Creating Another Lovely Card with Stampin'Up's New Lazy Days Stamps & Dies. Tuesday we creating a beautiful setting with some minimal stamping...if you missed it check it out here  Click here for Tuesday's card

Here's the set we are using this week...

Lazy days

Today we're getting a bit more whimsical with our setting...here's today's card...

Rocker

and a bit closer look...

Rocker cu

We began our creation with that fresh new look of Lemon Lolly cardstock--I think we'll be using quite a bit of the color especially during the summer months. We embossed the card front with the crosshatch design (Basics 3D embossing folders--Online Exclusive product)...a perfect texture for this scene.

The multi-hued designer paper is from the Bright & Beautiful set. These papers include many of our new colors in a lovely array of useful designs...I think we'll be seeing these quite a bit this season.

By stamping the floor covering on the Parakeet Party cardstock we eliminated coloring it! Doing the same trick with the rocking chair we have quickly created 2 main focal points in short order.

The basket of greenery was colored with the Lemon Lolly Blends and the Lemon Lime Twist Blends (a Returning color).

Using the "It's always a good day..." as the front greeting you can complete the thought any way the fits the occasion on the inside.

We've added a bit f shine with the Gold Foil borders and that added zing with the fresh new 23-25 In Color dots. Now it's hard to believe that these dots on this card are actually represending the Wild Wheat color ---they are really quite a lovely accent.

Stop back by Thursday and see our next card with this set.

I'll give you step by step directions for today's card below followed by the supply list.

2. Cut designer paper 2 1/2 X5 3/8 (Bright & Beautiful DSP)

    *Stamp verse in Memento ink
    *
Stamp floor covering in Granny Apple Green on Parakeet Party cardstock, die cut, adhere to dsp.
*Stamp rocking chair in Early Espresso ink on Crumb Cake cardstock; adhere with dimensionals
*Stamp basket of greenery in Memento on Basic White; color with Light Lemon Lime Twist & Light Lemon Lolly Blends; adhere with dimensionals

Creating Easily with Stampin'Up! New Lazy Days Stamps & Dies

Today we're Creating Easily with Stampin'Up! New Lazy Days Stamps & Dies. We're all so excited to get our hands on the new products in Stampin'Up!'s new annual catalog...we hardly know where to begin. So I selected this awesome new set Lazy Days to begin our stamping journey through the new catalog:

Lazy days

One of the useful features of this set is that most of the images have dies to cut them out along with some additional dies that accesorize with out the stamps....here's today's card...

Fence
& a bit closer...

Fence cuFor today's card we used the "fence" or "railing" die to form our base....we added the beautiful ivy or flower vine to add some interest.

The hanging basket was easily colored with our Stampin'Blends...the ink from these markers makes us look like coloring pros with the smooth delivery of color.

Then we cut one more vine with Flirty Flamingo and cut off small pieces to decorate the hanging greenery and to add a bit of spicy color

Those classy little silver pearls are from the Festive Pearls originally appearing in the holiday mini last fall but carrying over into the new annual catalog---wahooo! Those are really super embellishments in four different colors.

All this loveliness is bedded on the Cane Weave folder embossing which adds that wonderful deep texture to the card.

Stop back by Thursday and see our next card with this set.
