Creating Another Beauty with Stampin'Up! Nested Friends Stamps & Dies

Today we're Creating Another Beauty with Stampin'Up! Nested Friends Stamps & Dies. Tuesday our card centered around a gorgeous circle of sunshine....if you missed it check it out here Tuesday's Card.

Today's card is combining a recent technique we learned in which we create a designer paper in the color we need for a specific card.... here's today's card...

Vellum & a closer look...

Vellum cu

The lovely designer paper was created using Coastal Cabana cardstock with an overlay of Basics Vellum...this gives us that leafy image behind the central focus as if we are actually in a tree. We simply glue dot the vellum to the cardstock & ...our own designer paper.

We built the nest just as we did Tuesday, except this time our focal image is that sweet bird. We stamped the image on Pool Party cardstock--allowing us to have color without "coloring." However we did use Dark Pool Party Blend on the outer feathers adding some interest to the bird.

The gold border is created with the Desert Details die---so sorry to see that die retire--it complements so many images...however, I'm sure we'll find some new dies to 'die' for! LOL

Stop back by next week and see what our next Monthly Free Class will be featuring!!

I'll give you step by step directions below followed by the supply list.

Creating Spring with Stampin'Up! Nested Friends Dies

Today we're Creating Spring with Stampin'Up! Nested Friends Dies. As you may know this gorgeous set is not carrying over into the new annual catalog, however, it is going to the Online Only products...this means that as long as supplies last you will still be able to purchase it...great news!!!

Here's today's card...

Watercolor

and a little closer..

Watercolor cuFirst look at the beautiful halo of sunshine surrounding the nested eggs...this shape is from the Watercolor Shapes stamp set (this one is on the retired list) which gives us the shaded circle of sunshine that lights up the whole card.

The detailed die cuts are what relegate these images to the stunning level...the underlay has light embossing built into the die while the overlay is quite detailed to give that intricacy to the image.

The egg die has 3 eggs in one die --meaning that you only have to pass it through one time to create this card.

The background white layer is created with the Quatrefoil embossing folder and it totally livens up the entire card design.

Stop back by Thursday and see what we've created with this wonderful bundle of products.

I'll give you step by step directions below followed by the supply list.

Creating Another Beautiful Stampin'Up Designer Paper with Vellum Basics

Today we're Creating Another Beautiful Stampin'Up! Designer Paper with Vellum Basics. Tuesday we explored the leaf design...if you missed it, check it out here  Tuesday's Card

Here are the 3 Vellum basic designs in the pack...

Vellum

Today we're using the same Vellum Basics paper but we're using the polka dot design.  The dots give the paper a fresh spunky look that blends well with the more casual flower silhouette from the Meadows Dies (carrying over)!

Here's today's card...

Meadow diesand a bit closer...

Meadow dies cu

The cardstock underneath the dotted vellum is Flirty Flamingo--unless you have it in your hands you won't realize it's vellum over cardstock--is simply appears as a lovely designer paper.  And remember,  you can make it in 150 colors!

The silhouette is die cut from Basic Black cardstock and the die is from the Meadows set--these dies are absolute must as a staple in your stash and are carrying over into the new annual catalog.

We accented with the black and white gingham ribbon which appears to now be a staple in our ribbon stash since it also is carrying over. The dots are from the Classic matte dots (carrying over) and just add a touch of whimsy to the image.

.I'll give you step by step directions below followed by the supply list.

Creating Your Own Stampin'Up! Designer Paper In the Color You Want!

Today we're Creating Your Own Stampin'Up! Designer Paper in the Color You Want! Amazing, right? It's so easy and you can actually create it in 3 different designs...here's how....we're using Vellum Basics...when you overlay these vellum designs on colored cardstock you can create the Designer Paper that you want in any color.....

Vellum

Here's today's card for an example...

Artistic dies 1-2

and a closer look...

Artistic dies cuSee how the design of the vellum is brought forward by using a color underneath. (BTW the sampling of the vellum shown above has black cardstock underneath to highlight the vellum design). I do find that medium and dark colors work best to bring out the design, however, even the subtle tones  give it a lovely soft effect.

So Stampin'Up! has 40 colors in the four families and 10 more in the two In Color sets--you can create 50 X 3 designs = 150 different designer papers by simply using a packet of the Vellum Basics...isn't that amazing!

The above card uses the Grape-silver foil from the Silver Foil paper (carrying over) for the leaf arc...it's difficult to capture the shine in the photo but you get a better view with the close up photo.

The accent piece is that darlng dragonfy trinket (retiring). The shiny engraved silver just shines so brightly and coordinates wonderfully with the Grape-silver foil

Stop back next Thursday to see what we're up to with another card using this technique!

I'll give you step by step directions below followed by the supply list.

Remember:

*If you use this month's host code (EJGVWQK7) you can earn $5 in Stampin'Up! product (I choose) for every $50 in product that you order (excludes shipping & tax).

Creating Another Elegant Card Using Stampin'Up! Watercolor Shapes Stamp Set

Today we're Creatng Another Elegant Card Using Stampin'Up! Watercolor Shapes Stamp Set. Tuesday we created a stunning card using this set...if you missed it check it out here Click here to see Tuesday's card.

This is the Watercolorr Shapes stamp set..

Capture

Tuesday's card utilized a punch for the silhouette image but today's card uses stamps for this effect.

Here's today's beauty...

Sending smiles

and a bit closer...

Sending smiles cu For the background today we used two overlapping Watercolor Shapes circles in Daffodil Delight.  As you can see the built in shading of the stamp with the varying depths of color really makes the focal stamp pop!

The focus for the card is actually 2 stamps, the leaves/stem and the blossom. These are from the Sending Smiles stamp set. We usually don't stamp florals in black ink, but since we are wanting the silhouette image we are using Stazon Jet Black ink.

Tuesday I explained that when I'm using a stamp with large areas of solid image (not just a outline image) that I recommend using Stazon ink--it provides a deep black color and seems to provide a very good 'cover.'

The 'hello' is from the Go To Greetings set--the little greeting just snuggled in there perfectly... and also gives you a card that can be used for most occasions.

The gold pearls are from the Festive Pearls that were carried over from the Holiday mini last year--they are a pretty bright gold and add that touch of elegance to this card.

It's all topped off with the gold cord bow (Elegant Trim) that "ties" it all together.

Stop back next week to see what we're up to!

I'll give you step by step directions below followed by the supply list.

Remember:

*If you use this month's host code (EJGVWQK7) you can earn $5 in Stampin'Up! product (I choose) for every $50 in product that you order (excludes shipping & tax).

Directions:

1. Cut Thick Basic White cardstock 4 1/4 X 11, score long side at 5 1/2  (card base).

2. Cut Basic White cardstock 4 X 5 1/4; put through Gingham embossing folder and adhere to card front with liquid glue.

3. Die cut 2 5/8 X 4 Deckled Rectangle from Basic White cardstock:

*Stamp 2 Watercolor Shapes circles in Daffodil Delight ink (see sample for placement)

*Stamp blossom in Stazon at top of stem

*Stamp 'hello' in Stazon (see photo for placement).

Creating Instant Backgrounds with Stampin'Up! Watercolor Shapes Stamp Set.

Today we'll be Creating Instant Backgrounds with Stampin'Up! Watercolor Shapes Stamp Set.  It always looks more interesting if you have a lovely backgroun over which you are stamping your primary focal image.  The Watercolor Shapes is a set that has only shaded images that can be used for this purpose....

Capture

And, here's today's card...

Let's set sail

& a bit closer

Let's set sail cu

As you can see the watercolor circle shape is a shaded image with adds to the interest of the background...it's all in the stamp...just ink it and stamp it--the shading is already in the image.

One of the fun ways to use these backgrounds it to use a silhouetter image as the focal point...which is what we did in this card. The sailboat is created with the Boat Builder Punch---one quick punch from black cardstock and you have all 3 pieces to create that boat silhouette.

When stamping a solid image in black ink I find that Stazon Jet Black ink works quite well and gives very deep rich black images.

The flock of birds in the background is from the Let's Set Sail stamp set.  This set also has sailboat images so instead of using the punch, you can simply stamp over the circle in black ink.

Stop back next Thursday to see what we're up to with another card with this set!

I'll give you step by step directions below followed by the supply list.

*Stamp Watercolor Shape circle in Coastal Cabana ink--see photo for placement

This little stamp set has just grown on me...not being a 'cat' person at first it was just cute but I wasn't going to purchase it--but the longer I looked at it the more I thought of the awesome cards we could make then I bought it---no regrets!

Capture

If you get the April FREE Class you'll be receiving 3 great designs...but today's card will give you another design to use when you get your stamp set....

Country floral card a bit closer look...

Country floral cu

You simply have to smile when you see this cat---it's a great card to send to some one to lift their spirits.

The cat image has a lot of solid rubber--for stamps like this I use Stazon Jet Black ink..I find this ink gives a more robust black & covers very well. Other black inks  work, but I find that Stazon works really well for great coverage.

Under the larger flower is a heart--for this card I decided the a flower would work better with the flowers in the bike basket. Note---there are rows of blue hearts in the designer paper as well--so the heart would be fine.

The greeting "Just a Note" is from the Go To Greetings ( #158763 in the annual catalog).
