Creating Another Beautiful Card Using Stampin'Up! 21-23 In Colors

Today we're Creating Another Beautiful Card Using Stampin'Up! 21-23 In Colors! Tuesday we created 21-23 In Color cards featuring all the designs in the Designer Paper pack. If you missed it check it out here Click Here to see the Post

Today we're also using the Designer Paper & any of the designs in the pack will be equally beautiful. I happen to love plaids and so I chose my favorite color in that set and the plaid from the designer paper...here's the result...

2 freesia

a bit closer look at the embellishments and the die cut...

2 freesia cu

We used the designer paper as our most focal area with the die cut extending into the cardstock strip. This strip has been embossed with the Timeworn Type embossing folder...it gives interest without overwhelming or drawng the eye away from the main attraction.

The die cut is from Artistic Dies--it is just stunning and I must say it was easy to cut and remove from the die. Lots of floral and leaves along with tons of swirls & detail givng is sparkle and charm.

Again we embellished the major flower portion of the die cut with 3 large Fresh Freesia Opal Rounds.

This card is relatively simple design but is perfect for any of the 21-23 In Colors and the corresponding designer paper pack. It's also great for making a stash for use in any occasion--again, like Tuesday's card--without designing with a sentiment...it becomes quite useful.

Stop back next week to see what we're up to!

I'll give you step by step directions below followed by the supply list.

Remember:

*If you use this month's host code (CMD34HDM) you can earn $5 in Stampin'Up! product (I choose) for every $50 in product that you order (excludes shipping & tax).

Directons:

1. Cut Fresh Freesia cardstock 4 1/4 X 11, score long side at 5 1/2 (card base).

2. Cut the designer paper (Freesia plaid from 21-23 In Color Designer Series Paper) 3 X 5 1/4; adhere to left front leaving 1/8" border.

Designing Cards with Stampin'Up! 21-23 In Colors Designer Series Paper

The schedule is updated every Monday & can be seen and downloaded from the Events tab above. You can also see the cards by signing up for my newsletter--click on the button.

I designed this card to be good for nearly any occasion & since there's no sentiment--you can definitely use this for most any occasions.

Here's today's card...

FreesiaI used each of the designs in the In Color Designer paper for the background--these designs are so useful because they are small & lend themselves to card-making.

Best  part is that we also have the ribbon & Opal Rounds that match each of the 21-23 In Colors...which I used to embellish the silhouette. The flower is from the Meadow dies...it's a gorgeous set that contains spectacular silhouette images....one of which we are featuring in this card.

Here is the same card created in each of the other In Colors...

Creating Another Simple Beauty with Stampin'Up! By the Bay Designer Series Paper

Today we're Creating Another Simple Beauty with Stampin'Up! By the Bay Designer Series Paper. Tuesday we created our first 'simple' card using this paper....if you missed it check it out here... Click here to see it.

Today we're using a sheet from the By the Bay DSP that includes one side with the embedded gold metallic....here's our card for today...

By the Bay - sky card

here's a little closer for some of the details...

By the bay - sky card cu

When I selected this paper I "saw" a goreous sunset sky with gold streaking through the midst of it...so I added the stamped seagulls and that completed it for me!

We layered this with a peekaboo strip of Bermuda Bay on the top and bottom and used a Thick Basic White card base with just enhances the subtle coloring of the paper.

I used a Pool Party label and stamped the lovely scripted 'Thinking of You'--popped it up with dimensionals and called it good.

Adding 3 small basic rhinestones added that small elegant touch that always makes that card ratchet to the next level of lovely.

With just those 3 small additions you have a fantastic card with very little work...and it looks like a million dollars.

Stop back next Tuesday and see what we're up to!

I'll give you step by step directions below followed by the supply list.

Remember:

*If you use this month's host code (CMD34HDM) you can earn $5 in Stampin'Up! product (I choose) for every $50 in product that you order (excludes shipping & tax).*

Directons:

1. Cut Thick Basic White cardstock 8 1/2 X 5 1/2, score long side at 4 1/4 (card base).

2. Cut selected paper 5 1/4 X 3 3/4

*Cut Bermuda Bay cardstock 4 X 3 3/4; adhere to back of designer paper with glue.

*Stamp seagulls (On the Ocean) in black ink (e.g. Memento)

*Adhere 3 small basic rhinestones--see sample for placement

*Adhere this unit to the card front with glue.

3. Cut Pool Party cardstock 1 X 3 1/2; stamp verse 'thinking of you' (Go To Greetings) in black in (e.g. Memento). Adhere to lower right of card front with dimensionals.

Creating a Simply Beautiful Card Using Stampin'Up! By the Bay Designer Series Paper

Today we're Creating a Simply Beautiful Card Using Stampin'Up! By the Bay Designer Series Paper. This set of 48 sheets with 12 unique designs & 4 of each. One side of each paper is embedded with a metallic or shiny clear portions of the designs.

Here's a quick look at the papers...

Dsp
And here's today's card...

By the bay - beach cardand a little closer look at some of the details...

By the bay card - beach cu

You'll see this design doesn't include the embedded metallic...it reminded me of a beach scene... with the water in the foreground and the sky above....

By simply adding the seaguls (from On the Ocean) your mind is suddenly picturing the beach scene...right?

Then we added the gorgeous scripty greeting 'Thinking of You' (Go To Greetings) in gold embossing!

We chose the Night of Navy card base that makes the navy 'swish' on the paper just pop. And we added narrow side panels of gold foil to coordinate with the gold embossing.

By adding 3 clear rhinestones we can add some pizzazz to liven up our 'scene' without drawing your attention away.

So a Simply Beautiful card that is beautifully 'simple!'

Stop back Thursday and see what we did with another design from the DSP pack!

Directions:

Select your design (6x6). Score each side at 2"-this looks like a tic tac toe board.

On 2 opposite sides cut up on the score line to the crossing score line--do this on both opposite sides. (see pink sample below)

In middle section of the 2 opposite sides make pencil mark at the mid point (at 1")

    a. cut from the midpoint to left intersection of that section with the crossing score line. Repeat on right side. Do the same to the opposite side. (See pink sample below)

    b. cut the end sections in approximate thirds...do this on both the left & right sections.  Repeat on opposite side. (See pink sample below)

Base

*Working on one side add a strip of Stampin'Seal to the inside edge of the 2 sections of 3 "fingers."

*Hold pointed center section in one hand - bring up the closest "finger" on the left side & stick to the outside of the middle section...

1
(no clip needed--it will stick to center section with Stampin'Seal)

*Then bring up the closest finger on the right side... stick it to the first finger...

2

   * Then bring up the 2nd finger on the left side..stick to previous finger...

3

*Bring up the 2nd finger on the right... stick to previous finger...

4

*Now bringing up the last (3rd) finger on the left--place this straight horizontally (there will be a bit of the previous fingers showing--we'll take care of that last).

5

*Lastly bring up the 3rd finger on the right side-- make it straight horizontally...these last 2 fingers form the basket rim. Snip off the points showing above the rim on both sides.

6

Repeat on the the other side.

*Cut coordinating cardstock (in the single basket - Freesia) 8 1/2 X 3/4

*Using a paper punch make small hole in the middle of both ends & in the center of both sides of the basket rim. Using brads or paper fasteners (found in office supply stores) push ends through hole/spread prongs to attach handle.

*Cut approximately 9" of  ribbon (single sample uses Freesia); tie in bow--attach where handle is attached.

The copper foil and silver foil are embedded on white stock. The gold foil is embedded in Vanilla foil...and the effect is tottally stunning.

Here's today's creation

Edens dies 2and a bit closer look,,,

Eden dies cuIt is quite difficult to capture the beauty of foil in a photo! You really need to see it live to enjoy the true beauty.

We've coupled the designer paper with the border die (Eden dies) at the top and bottom of the designer paper cut. This pops the embedded foil and pulls out the richness of the copper.

We added just a touch of embelishment with the lovely butterfly also cut from copper foil and topped off with a Champagne rhinestone.

The sentiment is from the new collection Irresistible Blooms and the curly script is so fun with the butterfly and the copper wildflowers.

Stop back by next Thursday to see another card designed with the paper.

I'll give you step by step directions below followed by the supply list.
