Creating a Turkey Treat Box with Stampin'Up! Design a Treat Box Die
November 15, 2022
Today we’re creating a cute Turkey Treat Box with Stampin’Up! Design a Treat Box Die. This little die only uses a scant 6 X 6 piece of designer paper and it’s an all-in-one die---so only one die to cut this cutie out
Here’s today’s Turkey Treat Box…
& a couple of other angles to see it more closely….
We put on our creative cap and simply hand drew a turkey head & neck…it’s really not that hard ---you’ll see it below and can copy it in a flash.
The wattle (that red thing) is actually the small dragonfly punch ---just the wings…pretty clever, right?
And the tail (always the most important part) is the maple leaf die from Ranunculus Dies (have you noticed how much we use that die set lately?).
And, of course, we have candy inside as the treat…you can use these as place markers or simply as a fun little take home treat for your Thanksgiving guests. If you’re not hosting then maybe a little box of these would be an awesome host gift that your host can share with everying.
This is such a quick & easy project you can create several in an evening.
I’ll give you the step by step directions below following by the Supply list.
Stop back by Thursday and see another treat box for the autumn holidays.
When placing an online order and using this month’s host code (G4RX6ZUY) you will receive $5 in Stampin’Up! Product for each $50 you purchase (my choice of product).
Directions:
1. Hand draw a turkey head/neck—use the sample below as your template. Cut one from Crumb Cake cardstock; flip template over and cut the reverse from Crumb cake. Glue the head and neck together leaving the last ¼” horizontal piece without glue---spread these "wings" apart to use to attach to ‘body’ later.
*Punch small wings (Dragonfly Punch) from Cherry Cobbler cardstock, fold in half and glue to bottom of head.
*Adhere 2 small Rustic dots as eyes
2. Die cut box from Crumb Cake (Neutrals Designer Paper), and adhere sides with Tear & Tape using the four small flaps to form the body.
*Now is the time to add the treat (e.g. candy)
*Fold semicircles perpendicular to the box top and slide the two slitted flaps over them.
3. Die cut maple leaf (Ranunculus Dies) from Vanilla cardstock. Using Blends..
*Color one side lobe of leaf with Dark Daffodil, working quickly add Dark Pumpkin Pie to the edges. Then blend colors with Dark Daffodil until well blended.
*Repeat on the opposite side lobe of leaf.
*On center lobe color with Dark Daffodil, then working quickly edge with Dark Cajun Craze. Then blend colors with Dark Daffodil
*Use Wink of Stella to add sparkle
*Using glue dots adhere the leaf to the semicircle on the box top.
4. Using glue dots on the side flaps of the head/neck, adhere this unit to the front of the box.
Your turkey is ready for giving!
