Creating Positive Images with Stampin'Up! Ranunculus Leaf Dies!

Today we're Creating Positive Images with Stampin'Up! Ranunculus Leaf Dies! Tuesday we created negative images using these dies...if you missed it..check it out here https://www.sandilovesstamping.com/2022/10/creating-negative-images-with-stampinup-ranunculus-leaf-dies.html

On Tuesday we die cut leaves we'll be using today--these are the 'positive' images (from the 'negative' images for Tuesday's card)....today's card....

Positive cardCloser...

Positive cu

capturing Wink of Stella twinkle...

Positive - cu sparkle

We used our alcohol Blends to create the graduated blended colors for each leaf. The alcohol allows you to lay down a color, add a bit of contrasting color & then blend it so you get these beautiful imitations of nature.  It's so hard to capture the 'wink' but it really takes the design up a notch on the beauty scale!

The Vannilla/gold ribbon adds pizzazz as a pretty edging.

We have load of texture with Timeworn Type under the leavesand Quatrefoil on the right side..when using a neutral card base you can jazz it up with lots of texture.

The Champagne Rhinestones ratchet up the greeting label--the color of these embellishments blends nicely with an array of color paired with these autumn colors they lean toward a golden hue.

Stop back by next Tuesday --see what we're creating!

I'll give you full directions below followed by the supply list to order your supplies.

Remember: If you use this month's host code (SVADB3GK) you can earn $5 in Stampin'Up! product (I choose) for every $50 in product that you order (excludes shipping & tax).

Directions:

1. Cut Thick Very Vanilla cardstock 8 1/2 X 5 1/2, score long side at 4 1/4 (cardbase).

2. Cut Very Vanilla cardstock 2 X 5 3/8; put through Timeworn Type folder & adhere to left side of card front with glue.

3. Cut Vanilla cardstock 2 3/8 X 5 3/8, put through Quatrefoil folder & adhere to right side of card front with glue.

4. Cut approximately 17" of Vanilla Gold ribbon, wrap around card front -- tie in knot in upper 1/3 of front, seccure knot to card front with a glue dot.

5. Stamp verse (Ranunculus Romance) in Stazon Saddle Brown ink on Vanilla; die cut with scalloped circle die. Die cut slightly larger plain circle from Cajun Craze cardstock. Adhere together with glue & adhere to card front. Adhere 3 small Champagne rhinestones above verse.

6. For 2 leaves (these were die cut in Tuesday's creation) use Dark Daffodil Delight (base) & Dark Pumpkin Pie Blends; for 1 leaf use Pumpkin Pie (base) & Dark Cajun Craze.

Work in small areas---lay down a layer of he base color, then edge the area in the darker color. Finalize by blending with the base color....then brush with Wink of Stella.

Creating Negative Images with Stampin'Up! Ranunculus Leaf Dies!

Today we're Creating Negative Images with Stampin'Up! Ranunculus Leaf Dies.  So what is a negative image?  It's the absence of the image---so in the case of using a die--we cut out the image with the die---toss the image and what's left over is the 'negative' image or the outline of our image....here's today's card....see it in action...

Negative image card

Now you can see we used the leaf die on the top layer and the die cut has been removed (BTW--keep those die cuts for Thursdays creation)...what you have now is the negative image of the leaf.

We've used blending brushes on the middle layer to create that luscious blending of autumn colors from Cajun Craza through Pumpkin Pie and ending in Daffodil delight.

Check out those gems...those are new embellishments (Leaf labels & Amber Gems)in the fall mini catalog--deep color and a bit larger than the rhinestones we us regularly.

Stop back by Thursday (with those leaf die cuts) to see what we'll be creating then!

I'll give you full directions below followed by the supply list to order your supplies.

Remember: If you use this month's host code (SVADB3GK) you can earn $5 in Stampin'Up! product (I choose) for every $50 in product that you order (excludes shipping & tax).

Directions:

1. Cut Think Very Vanilla cardstock 8 1/2 X 5 1/2, score long side at 4 1/4 (card base).

2. Cut Very Vanilla 3 7/8 X 5 1/8; Using leaf die (Ranunculus dies) cut 3 leaves in a diagonal starting upper left and then put through the Timeworn Type embossing folder.

3. Cut Very Vanilla 5 5/8 X 5; use blending brushes and overlapping colors when they meet: Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie, & Daffodil Delight

Blending brushes

4. Adhere this to the card front with glue; adhere the die cut layer over this with dimensionals.

Another Creation Using Stampin'Up! Meadow Dies + Ocean Front Stamps

Today we're doing Another Creation Using Stampin'Up! Meadow Dies + Ocean Front Stamps. Tuesday we created two lovely cards using the Quiet Meadow stamps/dies with the Watercolor Shapes stamps--I also revealed a secret to the background stampind---if you missed it, check it out here https://www.sandilovesstamping.com/2022/10/stampinup-quiet-meadow-watercolor-shapes-a-secret-twist.html.

Today's creation is using the Ocean Front stamp set--probably not your first thought this time of year...but the background iage in that set provides a totally awesome shading that results in a dynamic contrast to the silhouette dies.....here's today's creation...

Quiet meadow + ocean frontand now a closer peak a the shading...

Quiet meadow + ocean front cuNotice how the shading in the stamp goes from light to dark...then we slighty overlapped the first stamp with the second stamping and we get another gradation of color....it's such an easy background but it gives such a professionnal look.

The black silhouette contrasts perfectly with the graded coloring. We've added some twinkle and sparkle using the Pool Party sequins (Adhesive backed sequins & Gems in the Holiday mini),  Then a bit of soft shine using the Pool Party ribbon ties the two flowers together at the stems.

This is such an easy card to make--you can vary the background color and the silhouette die to build your stash of cards just awaiting the right occasion to send!

Stop back by next week to see what we'll be creating then!

I'll give you full directions below followed by the supply list to order your supplies.

Remember: If you use this month's host code (SVADB3GK) you can earn $5 in Stampin'Up! product (I choose) for every $50 in product that you order (excludes shipping & tax).

Directions:

1. Cut Thick Basic White cardstock 8 1/2 X 5 1/2, score long side at 4 1/4 (card base).

2. Cut Bermuda Bay cardstock 3 1/2 X 4 3/4; adhere to card front with glue.

3. Cut Basic White cardstock 3 3/8 X 4 5/8.

4. Stamp background image in Coastal Cabana in the upper half; ink again and just slightly overlapping the first stamp, stamp again in the lower half.

5. Die cut flower (two times) from Basic Black cardstock; trim stems approximately 1" from bottom; adhere over background stamping with glue.

6. Cut approximately 8" Pool Party ribbon, tie bow, adhere where stems intersect with a glue dot.

7. Adhere 3 Pool Party sequins (see photo for placement).

Stampin'Up! Quiet Meadow + Watercolor Shapes & a Secret Twist

Today we're creating with Stampin'Up! Quiet Meadow + Watercolor Shapes & a Secret Twist. I love silhouette dies and creating fun backgrounds over which they just pop off the project.  The Quiet Meadow and coordinating dies (Meadow dies) are perfect for the late summer and autumn.

Today we're creating a background using the Watercolor Shapes (and later I'll show you a secret about using these stamps)...here's today's design

Quiet measow + wwatercolor shapes

& a closer look at the background...

Quiet meadow + watercoor shapes cuThe watercolor stamps are shaded as you can see well in this close up...we added some additional texture by using the Timeworn Type embossing folder after stamping.

The Early Espresso silhouette die cut provides a super contrast to the lighter Pale Papaya.  The brushed metallic dots add a bit of shine along with the Vanilla/gold ribbon--this is the ribbon that takes on the underlying color beneath it. This feature makes it a delightful embellishment to have in your stash.

Now, I promised you a secret twist to using the Watercolor Shapes...re-looking at the above you will remember that these background stamps provide a shading built into the stamp itself. This is very lovely and provides texture and interest. However, if you take the stamp off the block (clean it first) and adhere the 'good side' to the block--you can now stamp with the backside....and when you do...this is what happens....

Quiiet meadow _ watercolor reverseYes, the shape no longer has the shading and now provides a smooth circle over which our silhouette is in great contrast. Isn't that fun--you have 2 stamps in one--making this a reversible stamp set because you can do this little trick with all the stamps in this set.

OK, drop me a comment--which do you prefer?

I'll give you full directions below followed by the supply list to order your supplies.

Stop back by Tuesday to see what other design we have using the Meadow dies.

Remember: If you use this month's host code (SVADB3GK) you can earn $5 in Stampin'Up! product (I choose) for every $50 in product that you order (excludes shipping & tax).

Directions:

1. Cut Pale Papaya 8 1/2 X 5 1/2, score long side at 4 1/4 (card base).

2. Cut Early Espresso 5 X 3 3/4; adhere to cardfront with liquid glue

3. Cut Papaya 4 7/8 X 3 5/8

*Stamp 3 overlapping Watercolor Shapes circles in Pale Papaya ink (see photo)
*Put stamped layer through Timeworn Type embossing folder.
*Die cut flower & butterfly (Meadow dies) from Espresso; adhere over circles.

4. Cut Basic White cardstock 2 X 1/2; stamp verse in Early Espresso; adhere near flower stem with dimensionals

5. Adhere 1 large & 2 small brushed gold dots (see photo).

6. Cut approximately 8" vanilla/gold ribbon, tie in bow and adhere to stem with a glue dot.

Another Amazing Card Using Stampin'Up! Delicate Edges Dies

Today we're creating Another Amazing Card Using Stampin'Up! Delicate Edges Dies. Tuesday we created a beauty using autumn colors...if you missed it check it out here.... https://www.sandilovesstamping.com/2022/09/check-this-amazing-card-using-stampinup-delicate-edges-dies.html

Today's charming look is created using a winter color blend...

2silver

Trying to capture the glow of the silver foil...

2silver cu

The super power of this die set is that it provides 4 totally unique designs...so even using the same card design when we alter the the die selection we have a card with a totally different look & feel.

On this card we used Pacific Point and Fresh Freesia ink for our blended background...to me this gives a slightly winter feel.  So with the blue tones we chose the silver foil for the edge cuts to coincide with the 'cool' colors.

For this embellishments we chose the ever sparkly Freesia sequins that catch any passing ray of light and turn it into a beautiful sparkle. We added the ribbin of white glitter that adds an additional touch of sparkle near the top of the card.

Again, we used the greeting fron the Go To Greetings set that gives us our most frequently used greetings.

Stop back by next Tuesday and see what we've created for you.

I'll give you full directions below followed by the supply list to order your supplies.

Remember: If you use this month's host code (SVADB3GK) you can earn $5 in Stampin'Up! product (I choose) for every $50 in product that you order (excludes shipping & tax).

Directions:

1. Cut Thick Basic White carstock 4 1/4 X 11, score long side at 5 1/2 (card base).

2. Cut Fresh Freesia cardstock 5 1/4 X 4; adhere to card front with glue

3. Cut  Basic White cardstock 3 7/8 X 5 1/8

*With Blending Brushes in circular motions use the following inks diagonally across the cardstock overlapping each color with the next one

        *Pacific Point
        *Fresh Freesia
Note: After completing the 2 "bands" of color go over the entire piece with Freesia to do a final "blend"

*Adhere this to the card front with glue

4. Stamp the greeting in black in near the bottom center (see photo)

5. Die cut 4 "leaf" borders from silver foil; place these vertically altering the length of the die cut  & adhere with small amounts of glue--trim off excess at the top of the cardstock

6. Cut approximately 12" of white glitter ribbon. Wrap around card front and tie in a knot in top center--secure knot with a glue dot.

7. Adhere 3 Freesia sequins (see photo)

Check This Amazing Card Using Stampin'Up! Delicate Edges Dies

Today we'll be using a super set of dies---Check This Amazing Card Using Stampin'Up! Delicate Edges Dies.  This is a set of 4 beautiful dies that provide a variety of edges...each with it's own unique twist. It's one of those sets you'll want to have in your basic die stash because each die is a staple design that will not go out of style.

Here's today's card...

GoldAnd here's a bit closer look...

Gold cu

We used gold foil to create the leaf "edgings"...the gold gives the card such a lovely warm glow...it just screams autumn.

Autumn colors are my favorite group of colors (except for spring & then there's the crisp winter hues, & those lovely brilliant summer ones...ok, so I really enjoy them all)! But I do enjoy creating with blending the warm fall colors---in this case I used Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, & Cajun Craze---topped it off with the gold foil & this card becomes a classic design that can be part of your ever present stash for a quick grab.

For what occasion would this NOT work? It's perfect for thinking of you, thank you, birthday, just a note, thanksgiving....I used one of my favorite greeting sets (Go To Greetings) becaue I can find a greeting in that set that will fit almost any occasion and size needed. This is a right great set to keep in the front of your greeting sets for quick grab.

Stop back by Thursday and see another version using the Delicate Edges.

I'll give you full directions below followed by the supply list to order your supplies.

Another Quick & Easy Faux Watercolor Card featuring Ranunculus Romance Die Cut Leaf

Today we're creating  Another Quick and Easy Faux Watercolor Card featuring Ranunculus Romance Die Cut LeafTuesday we created a leaf cascade card check it out here if you missed it... https://www.sandilovesstamping.com/2022/09/quick-easy-faux-watercoloring-fall-leaves-on-a-card.html

Today we're using that same technique and altering one of the colors...this changes the color combo and provides a fresh look....

Curry

And a bit closer...

Curry cu

In preparing the colors this time we used Mossy Meadow instead of Cajun Craze--this lightens the color combo while still staying with traditional autumn colors.

This time we are layering the leaves over square backgrounds--this features each leaf as it's own painting. Adding Wink of Stella (impossible to see in the photo) adds a quite stunning effect.

We added 3 brushed metallic dots to add our touch of pizazz to the card.

Leaving off a greeting this now becomse one of those awesome stash cards that can be used at any time for any occasion--this one is definitely great for guys, gals...for birthdays, thank you, thinking of you, just a note....etc.

Quick & Easy Faux Watercoloring Fall Leaves on a Card

Today we''re going to be creating a Quicky & Easy Faux Watercoloring Fall Leaves on a Card. Autumn is my favorite time of the year & there's not much I love better in nature than fall colors. Today we're using the gorgeous leaf in the Stampin'Up! Ranunculus Romance set.

Coloring individual leaves can take quite some time & since I'm not an artist I find it very challenging. So when I discovered how quickly & easily this coloring can be done I was in heaven.

Here's today's creation...

Cajunand here's a bit closer look a the coloring...

Cajun cuThe best part is there's no right or wrong coloring--select 3 of your favorite colors & use the water painters on the Watercolor paper. I'll explain the quick foolproof technique below...you aren't really watercoloring ---you are simply smearing the watered colors onto the pre-wet paper & they are pretty much blending themselves. I

I'll give you full directions below followed by the supply list to order your supplies.
