Gorgeous Cards with Stampin'Up! New Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper

Today we're exploring Gorgeous Cards with Stampin'Up! New Hues of Happiness Deisgner Series Paper. I'm sure you've been drooling over this fabulous new paper that arrived in the new Stampin'Up! Annual Catalog....

Hues of happinessIt's pretty impossible to see the brilliant "rainbowing" colors on most of these pages---you get  a hint with these small slivers but you need to see them in real life to get the full effect.

The fun part is that from a single sheet you can create multiple cards with different color focal points--so you can take one design and end up with multiple color combos. The roses in the design project various shades of a color letting you select one of them to be your focus while the others dovetail nicely.

Here's today's creations:

There are 20 cards & envelopes in the Texture Chic Memories & More Cards and Envelopes ($12). This gives you a ton of opportunities to create gorgeous designs without designing the entire card front. TEXTURE CHIC MEMORIES & MORE CARDS & ENVELOPES

Here's today's fun creation... Shells last

A closer look...

Last cuCan you guess what my latest favorite specialty paper might be? Yep, the Distressed Gold Specialty--it's fairly thin like a designer paper so it die cuts like a charm--and the there's a bit of texture to it by touch and visually. I cut the distressed grid from this paper as well as the Petal Pink shell overlay....absolutely stunning!

The stamped shells in this card are 2-step stamps--for the upper right shell we used pool party for the base shell & Coastal Cabana for the overlay...this gives you the visual depth to the shell. For the lower right shell I used Crumb Cake for the base shell &Soft Suede for the overlay.

Because the base card is ready to go you can achieve this design in about 15 minutes---and don't we all have times when we need a super card but we have little time. Keep a pack of these ready to go cards and envelopes.

I'll give you step by step directions below followed by the supply list.

Remember: If you use this month's host code (99ZW7X3Q) you can earn $5 in Stampin'Up! product (I choose) for every $50 in product that you order (excludes shipping & tax).

Directions:

1. Die cut the distressed grid (Chic Dies) from Distressed Gold Specialty paper; adhere to card front with glue.

2. Stamp 'thanks' (Texture Chic) in Stazon Saddle Brown ink.

3. Die cut base shell from Petal Pink cardstock; die cut shell overlay from Distressed Gold paper--adhere to shell base with glue.

4. Stamp the shell base in Pool Party ink on Basic White cardstock; stamp the overlay in Coastal Cabana.

*Stamp the shell base in Crumb Cake ink on Basic White cardstock; stamp the overlay in Soft Suede.

    *Die cut both stamped images

*Adhere the Pool shell with one dimensional at the top; adhere the Petal Pink shell with glue; adhere the Crumb Cake shell the 2 dimensionals

5. Cut two 10" lengths of Crumb Cake twine, tie in a double bow and adhere under the pink shell with a glue dot.

Using Faux Spotlighting Technique with Stampin'Up! Perfectly Penciled Designer Series Paper

Today we're going to create Using Faux Spotlighting Technique with Stampin'Up! Perfectly Penciled Designer Series Paper. Tuesday we used the traditional 'spotlighting' technique with this new designer paper...if you missed it check it out here..https://www.sandilovesstamping.com/2022/05/beautiful-designs-with-the-new-stampinup-perfectly-penciled-designer-series-paper.html

The traditional technique uses a well defined area to "spotlight" like the circle used on Tuesday's card. The Faux sp0tlighting uses a less well defined "spot" as we did in today's card...we chose one image as our "spotlight" and that becomes the focal point for coloring...here's today's card...

Cluster

a bit closer...

Cluster cuNotice the shading of the color on the flowers---that's all accomplished with the designer paper.  After coloring the selected image--Iconsidered including the small cluster of flowers on the right side ...I can't decide--include?  What do you think? Should I use Dark Real Red for those, another color, or leave them as they are?

This gorgeous set of papers offers you so many choices and each one is totally lovely...as I mentioned Tuesday--the fronts of the papers are florals and leaves and the back sides are geometrics. This allows the possibility of mixing the florals and geometrics for another set of beautiful cards....maybe I'll try that n

Happily the Brushed Brass Butterflies carried over from the spring mini catalog to the new Annual catalog. (BTW if you don't have a demonstrator and have not yet received a new catalog--contact me and we'll get one to [email protected]).

The Happy Birthday greeting is from the middle sized verses in Go To Greetings (#158763)--a new set in the catalog this year designed to give you 4 of the most frequently used greetings in 3 different sizes and fonts (plus an additional Hello). You'll want to have this in your greetings arsenal.

I'll give you step by step directions below followed by the supply list.

Remember: If you use this month's host code (99ZW7X3Q) you can earn $5 in Stampin'Up! product (I choose) for every $50 in product that you order (excludes shipping & tax).

Stop back by Thursday to check out another fun design with this paper.

Directions:

1. Cut Thick Basic White cardstock 4 1/4 X 11, score long side at 5 1/2 (card base).

2. Cut Basic Black cardstock 4 X 5 1/4; adhere to card front with liquid glue.

3. Cut designer paper (large floral spray) from Perfectly Penciled 3 7/8 X 5 1/8; select an image for coloring.

4. Cut Basic White cardstock 3/4 X 2 3/4; stamp Happy Birthday in Memento ink

Beautiful Designs with the New Stampin'Up! Perfectly Penciled Designer Series Paper

Today we're creating Beautiful Designs with the New Stampin'Up! Perfectly Penciled Designer Series PaperThe new Stampin'Up! annual catalog is now active & we can indulge our cravings for all those luscious new products...one of those is a beautiful black & white designer paper---Perfectly Penciled.. twelve stunning florals on one side & geometrics on the other...mix them or match or just play with one of them which we are doing today with the spotlighting technique.

Today's card uses the "spotlight" technique--it's quite easy to do but results in a simply striking image....

Cirble a little closer look at the spotlighted area...

Circle cu

We've added a fun element by increasing the focus by surrounding the spotlight with vellum...this softens the black and white images but increases the focus of the spotlighted image.

Using Real Red and Shaded Spruce with black and white is one of my favorite combinations--the red and green are a beautifully elegant contrast to the black & white.

Check out that fabulous script--"Just a Note?"  Script always lends a fancy touch to the card. This image is from the Go To Greetings Set (Yes, I'm prejudiced--it's my million dollars set--& this is the last time I'll tell you that!). The set has 4 frequently used images in 3 different sizes so that you can always "go to" this set and find a greeting you can use.

Directions:

2. Cut Basic Black cardstock 5 X 3 3/4; adhere to card front with liquid glue.

3. Cut small floral piece of Perfectly Penciled Designer Series Paper 3 5/8 X 4 7/8.

4. Cut Vellum cardstock 3 5/8 X 4 7/8, die cut 2 5/8" diameter circle from middle of vellum (Layering Circle dies); lay this piece over the designer paper & mark circle with pencil.

*Using Light Real Red and Light Shaded Spruce Blends color the image within the circle.
*Add 3 large rhinestones to the center of 3 of the flowers within the circle.
*Adhere the vellum to the designer paper with 4 glue dots--try to place the glue dots in an area that is masked with the images so the glue dots don't attract attention.

5. Cut Basic White cardstock 1 X 3 1/8; stamp "Just a Note" in Memento ink; adhere to card front with dimensionals--see photo for placement. Add 3 small rhinestones to the greeting.

More Pretty Fun Designs with Stampin'Up! New In Colors & a New Stamp Set

Today we're going to create More Pretty Fun Designs with Stampin'Up! New In Colors & a New Stamp Set.  Tuesday we played with the cardstock and metallic ribbon...if you missed it...check it out here... https://www.sandilovesstamping.com/2022/05/beautiful-creations-with-stampinup-new-in-colors.html

Today we're designing with the new In Color inks, glimmer paper and twine. This time we're using Basic White to create a clean blank slate so that our inks will be our focus on a pure background. Using the Basic White notecards as the basis we added a mini layer of the coordinating color and topped that with the plain white canvas on which to "paint" with our new inks.

The silhouette stamp is from the Fresh Cut Flowers set--it's a new one and quite lovely. The verse is from the Go To Greetings set---I have a bit of prejudice with this set! I helped design this one with Stampin'Up! Design Team for my $1million dollar stamp set! I love it and I hope you will too!

So onto the white clean slate we stamped the floral silhouette, added a cute greeting that just fits perfectly, and added a glimmer butterfly in the same In Color.

Beautiful Creations with Stampin'Up! New In Colors

Today we're going to make Beautiful Creations with Stampin'Up! New In Colors. When the new Stampin'Up! In colors are released I love to play with them all to enjoy having new colors with which to create. One of the things I do is create a card using the same design but with each of the new colors. So that's what we're creating today! One single design but each card features one of the new colors....

OK, it's tough but which one is your favorite?  I haven't been able to settle on just one yet so I need to play a bit more

We are contrasting the colors with Basic White which leaves us to totally enjoy each color alone. We've added the matching In Color  Woven Metallic Ribbon.

The feature die cut is from the stunning Artistic Die set carried over from the 2021-22 annual catalog. I used this not because we have nothing new that is equally stunning but because I can't get to those yet!! I will definitely be exploring the new dies just as soon as I can get my hands on them.

The background embossing folder is the Timeworn Type that is also carried over from the 2021 holiday mini catalog--this is a subtle but effective way to add a bit of texture to the background without having it overpower the focal point. Backgrounds can be a bit tricky sometimes--they can be very lovely and overpower your main focus.

Would you like to own all the new In Colors (ink, refill, cardstock, markers, Blends, ribbon, dots, designer paper and glimmer paper) and not go broke AND get a free gift that is essentially equivalent to a 5% discount?  It's called the In Color Club...all the details are in this attached brochure....
