Designing Another Creation with Stampin'Up! Tropical Layers Bundle

Today we're Designing Another Creation with Stampin'Up! Tropical Layers Bundle. If you missed our Tuesday creation you can check it out here...https://www.sandilovesstamping.com/2022/03/simple-creating-with-stampinup-artfully-layered-stamps-dies.html.

Today's card is a bit simpler but with an added touch of elegance...

Gpld

and a bit closer to see those rhinestones sparkle...

Gold cu

White on white has such an elegant appearance--add a bit of texture to that and we have a beautiful base on which to work.

Cutting the leaf from gold foil adds a lovely warm shine to the focal point.  The pop of the gold cord bow keeps the eye focused on the central design instead of sliding off the side where the stem is pointing.

We added a bit of "tropical" green by stamping the sentiment in Shaded Spruce. And the 3 sparkly rhinestones takes the design over the top to the next level for which we are always striving.

Again today as we did Tuesday we can leave off the sentiment and keep the card in our stash. When an occasion arises we can add the sentiment and be ready to go in mere moments.

I'll give you the step by step directions below followed by the Supply List so you can order the supplies you need to duplicate this card.

Remember: If you use this month's host code (VF9RTPMM) you can earn $5 in Stampin'Up! product (I choose) for every $50 in product that you order (excludes shipping & tax).

Directions:

1. Cut Thick Basic White cardstock 4 1/4 X 11, score long side at 5 1/2 (card base).

2. Cut Basic White cardstock 4 1/8 X 5 3/8; put through Timeworn Type embossing folder. Adhere this to card front with liquid glue.

3. Cut Basic White cardstock 4 1/8 X 3 5/8 and 4 X 3 1/2; adhere together with glue

4. Die cut the leave from gold foil, adhere to card front with a couple of glue does near the leaf base.

5. Stamp sentiment in Shaded Spruce in lower right corner and attach this unit to card front with dimensionals.

6. Cut approximately 8 inches of gold cord and tie in a bow--adhere to leaf stem with a glue dot.

7. Adhere one large, one medium and one small rhinestone around leaf---see photo for positioning.

Simple Creating with Stampin'Up! Artfully Layered Stamps & Dies

Today we're doing Simple Creating with Stampin'Up! Artfully Layered Stamps & Dies.

Thumbnail_IMG_4535

It does have a tropical feel and look but today we're moving away from the tropics to a more traditional look.

Black & whiteAnd a bit closer look...

Black & white cu

Using  black and white combo we immediately move away from tropical greens/yellows/oranges. By adding the Vellum Design Layers we are definitely not in the jungle and moving more toward traditional. The black contrast dramatically with the white and printed vellum.

The Timeworn Type embossed background is a touch of texture without overwhelming all the other busy-ness of the leaves themselves By adhering the leaves to the card front with only a few dots of liquid glue along the leaf stem we get tons of depth, texture, and interest.

This is one of those cards you can use to build your stash leaving off the sentiment--add that when you have a need for a card--that way you'll have a supply of cards that can be used for various occasions.

Directions:

1. Cut Thick Basic White cardstock 4 1/4 X 11, score long side at 5 1/2 (card base)

2. Cut Basic Black cardstock 3 3/4 X 5; adhere to card front with liquid glue.

3. Cut Basic White cardstock 3 5/8 X 4 7/8; put through Timeworn Type embossing folder and adhere to black layer with glue.

4. Cut Vellum Design Layer 2 X 3 1/2 and Basic White cardstock 2 X 3 1/2; adhere the vellum to the white layer with a glue dot in each corner; adhere this unit to the center of the card front with glue.

5. Die cut 2 leaves from Basic Black cardstock; adhere with 4 small dots of glue along the stem on each leaf (see photo for placement)

6. Cut Basic White cardstock 3/4 X 3; stamp sentiment in black ink (e.g.Memento); adhere this to card front with dimensionals.

Another Sweet & Simple Card with Stampin'Up! Boughs & Blossoms Bundle

Today we're creating Another Sweet & Simple Card with Stampin'Up! Boughs & Blossoms Bundle.  Tuesday we created a little beauty with this bundle so if you missed it check it out here https://www.sandilovesstamping.com/2022/03/designing-simply-sweet-cards-with-staminup-boughs-blossoms-bundle.html

Today's card is a bit quicker and simpler...

Card 2and a little closer for the detail...

Card 2 cu

By drawing a line horizontally in the card center you can keep your line of stamping the leaves straight even though you are re-orienting no worries about cutting plates putting scratches on the foil surface.

And check out that gorgeous Soft Succulent ribbon--satin and soft and a beautiful shade of green to match the ink used in stamping.

Notice that scalloped edge on the white cardstock strip--that was created with the scalloped edge die in the Prized Peony bundle--it includes that nifty stitching right below the scallop.

Notice this is another one of those wonderful cards without a sentiment on the front--this means it's a great addition to your stash for those times when you have 'no time' to stamp and need a card right away. This card can work for just about any occasion--birthday, thank you, thinking of you, anniversary, sympathy and more!

(By the way...if you find many times that you have 'no time' for stamping--you need to look at your schedule and cut out some of those nonessential activities so you do have time for stamping. You'll be happy that you did!)

Directions:

1. Cut Thick Basic White cardstock 4 1/4 X 11, score long side at 5 1/2 (card base)

*Draw a pencil line horizontally across the middle of the card front--at 2 1/8"

*Randomly stamp the leaves in Soft Succulent ink along both top and bottom of that line using the line as a guide

*Punch 6 springs (Boughs punch) from Gold foil and adhere them with glue dots--follow photo for placement.

2. Cut Evening Evergreen 5 1/2 X 1 5/8; Cut Soft Succulent 5 1/2 X 1 3/8; adhere together with liquid glue

3. Cut Basic White 5 1/2 X 1 3/8, using the edge die (Prized Peony Bundle) cut scalloped edge on both long sides; adhere to above unit with glue

4. Cut approximately 17" Soft Succulent ribbon. Wrap around above unit and tie in knot on front in middle. Secure the knot to the unit with a glue dot. Adhere this to middle of card front with liquid glue.

Designing Simply Sweet Cards with Stampin'Up! Boughs & Blossoms Bundle

Today we're Designing Simply Sweet Cards with Stampin'Up! Boughs & Blossoms Bundle. Sometimes we tend to overlook the sweet simple stamp sets and they turn out to be some of our best loved ones.

Set

As you probably remember one of my favorite projects is to create a simple but awesome card...here's today's card using this set...

Card 1

and a closer look at the "boughs & blossoms"...

Card 1 cu

One of the fun parts of this creation process was using the punch (yes, not dies) to cut the leave and the accent flowers. Dies are totally awesome and we certainly can't do some of the fancy stuff with punches but when it comes to doing a cute simple card--sometimes grabbing a punch is very quick and easy.

The posy is stamped in Melon Mambo and hand cut (I'm not a fan of calling it "fussy cutting"--there's nothing fussy about it--it's just simply cutting). It takes only about a minute to cut it out since it is a very simple image.

By adding a couple of brass butterflies and the floral center of an iridescent rhinestone (aren't they awesome) the pizazz scale ratcheted up to another level!

Then to "tie" it all together we used a figure 8 of gold twine behind the flower which really add a dimension of simple fancy.

Stop back by Thursday and check out another cutey with this set.

Below I"ll give you step by step directions followed by the Supply list so you can order your supplies today.

Remember: If you use this month's host code (VF9RTPMM) you can earn $5 in Stampin'Up! product (I choose) for every $50 in product that you order (excludes shipping & tax).

Directions:

1. Cut Thick Basic White cardstock 4 1/4 X 11, score long side at 5 1/2 (card base)

2. Cut white cardstock 4 1/8 X 5 3/8, put through Time Worn Type embossing folder; adhere to card front wtih liquid glue.

3. Cut two pieces of designer paper (Sweet Symmetry) 1 1/2 X 3 1/4; adhere to card front with glue--see positioning in sample.

4. Stamp flower in Melon Mambo ink on white cardstock and cut out with paper snips

5. Punch 2 leaf stems from Shaded Spruce  and 2 sprigs from gold foil  with the Bough Punch; adhere these to card front with glue dots.

6. Cut 12" gold cord and form a figure 8; adhere this over the stems with a glue dot

7. Adhere flower over the center with dimensional; adhere large iridescent rhinestone to flower center

8. Adhere one large and one small polished brass butterflies (see photo).

Designing a Photo Tag Book with Stampin'Up! Abstract Beauty Collection!

Today we're exploring Designing a Photo Tag Book with Stampin'Up! Abstract Beauty CollectionIf you joined us Tuesday you saw a pretty cute card designed by Valerie Eilman with the Abstract Beauty Collection of products including the Hello Beautiful bundle. If you missed it check it out here https://www.sandilovesstamping.com/2022/03/creating-with-stampinup-hello-beautiful-abstract-beauty-designer-paper.html

Valerie is one of our Dream Team designers and today she's created a beautiful Photo Tag Book using the same basic supplies as she used for the card.

A tag book is simply a group of tags designed to hold photos (usually of the same theme) held together with a binder ring. This is an excellent way to display your photos or to give them as a small memory album gift. They are compact and can be casually displayed on your coffee table, on your desk or even tucked in your bag for easy retrieval to show your friends.

Here's Valerie's tag book... Page 1 Front

General Directions:

*Use a binder ring (generic office supply store) to hold the pages.
*Notch the corners at the top of each tag  and punch holes at the top middle with  paper hole punch.
*The last page is chipboard from packaging.
*Unless otherwise noted, all stamping is done in Tuxedo Black Momento ink.
*All pictures are 3x4 with a mat size of 3 1/4 X 4 1/4.
*Tip for attaching vellum ephemera – use a glue dot behind solid image to hide the adhesive.  E.g. 3 heart vellum pieces, use a glue dot behind one of the hearts.

Creating with Stampin'Up! Hello Beautiful & Abstract Beauty Designer Paper

Today we're Creating with Stampin'Up! Hello Beautiful & Abstract Beauty Designer Paper

Val Eilman

In January you met one of our Guest Dream Team designers, Valerie Eilman. This week we are exploring these two new products with Valerie's designs. Today's creation is a very cute card using the hexagon dies in the Hello Beautiful Bundle--it's a super set of concentric geometric shapes that you can mix and match for some great cards.

PXL_20220222_200858426 (2)..and not just the card front but also on the inside...

1-bValerie used 3 sizes of the hexagon dies for this card. The fun thing about these hexagons is that they fit together so easily to make the awesome top card layer--and,  all the designs in the designer paper  coordinate superbly! This results in an unending variation of card fronts--you can make multiples just alike or tons with different paper designs.

Adding the gold shimmer ribbon and those fun hexagon embellishments add that sparkle & pizzazz to the entire card making it a superb design!

Stop back by on Thursday and see another fantastic design from Valerie--this one is amazing! Don't miss it.

Complete directions are given below followed by the supply list--order your supplies today to create this beauty.

Remember: If you use this month's host code (VF9RTPMM) you can earn $5 in Stampin'Up! product (I choose) for every $50 in product that you order (excludes shipping & tax).

Directions:

1. Cut 8 1/2 X 5 1/2 Thick Basic White cardstock, score long side at 5 1/2 (card base).

2. Cut Blushing Bride cardstock 4 X 5 1/4; adhere to card front with liquid glue.

3. Cut Night of Navy cardstock 4 X 5 1/4:

*Die cut 12 hexagons (1 7/8 point to point).
*Begin adhering the first one with liquid glue approximately 1" from left edge of navy layer and about 1/2" from top
*Continue adhering hexagons to cover the navy piece leaving a small border of navy showing between them.
*Cut this navy layer down to 3 7/8 x 5 1/8---this will trim off excess hexagons and give a nice clean edge.

4. Adhere navy layer to blush layer with liquid glue.

5. Cut approximately 22" gold shimmer ribbon, wrap around card front and tie in bow.

6. Die cut large hexagon (2 1/4 point to point) from Crushed Curry cardstock; die cut  1 7/8 hexagon from white cardstock.

*Stamp shape in Blushing Bride ink on white hex; stamp greeting in black ink.
*Adhere white hex to curry hex with glue.
*Adhere this tag to card to right of bow with dimensionals.

*Adhere 3 hexagon embellishments to tag.
*Anchor bow with a glue dot.

Designing Another Simple Card with Stampin'Up! Amazing Silhouettes Stamp Set

Today we are Designing Another Simple Card with Stampin'Up! Amazing Silhouettes Stamp Set. Tuesday we used the tree image for a beautiful card...if you missed it check it out here...https://www.sandilovesstamping.com/2022/02/how-to-design-a-simple-card-with-stampinup-amazing-silhouette-stamp-set.html

Today's card features the lovely butterfly image..this time we stamped the image in Coastal Cabana on white cardstock so the background of the negative silhouette can coordinate with any color scheme you desire.

Butterfly

and a bit closer...

Butterfly cuThe die set that's bundled with the Amazing Silhouettes stamp set includes a couple of great greetings. For this card I used the "thanks" and cut it from the Rainbow Glimmer paper...this slide of color from Coastal Cabana  to Granny Apple Green adds a lovely glimmery pop to the greeting. By simply adding 3 small Basic Rhinestone jewels the focal point of the butterfly is framed in sparkle.
Two colors were used to layer the top white layer--

Butterfly border

This coordinates well with the same two colors that were captured in the Rainbow Glimmer die cut. By altering the colors die cut and these 2 layer colors--you can create an entire "rainbow" of cards using this simple design

Remember: If you use this month's host code (VF9RTPMM) you can earn $5 in Stampin'Up! product (I choose) for every $50 in product that you order (excludes shipping & tax).

Directions:

1. Cut Thick Basic White cardstock 8 1/2 X 5 1/2, score long side at 4 1/4 (card base)

*Put the card front through the Tasteful Textiles embossing folder

2. Cut Basic White cardstock 2 1/2 X 3 1/2:

    * Stamp butterfly image in Coastal Cabana ink

*Adhere 3 small Basic Rhinestone Jewels around butterfly in a rough triangle (see photo for placement).

3. Die cut thanks (Amazing Thanks Dies) from Rainbow Glimmer paper. Position the cut so that it spans Coastal Cabana through Granny Apple Green. Adhere this greeting under butterfly with liquid glue.

4. Cut Granny Apple Green cardstock 2 5/8 X 3 5/8; adhere to back of stamped layer with liquid glue.

5. Cut Bermuda Bay cardstock 2 3/4 X 3 3/4; adhere to back of above unit with liquid glue; adhere this unit to card front with glue.

How to Design a Simple Card with Stampin'Up! Amazing Silhouette Stamp Set

Today I'm going to show you How to Design a Simple Card with Stampin'Up! Amazing Silhouette Stamp Set. I love silhouette stamps and dies--this one is a reverse silhouette...

157814

So instead of the usual black image we can have white or any other color with a beautiful colored background.

Silhouettes naturally lend themselves to simple cards and here's today's...

TreeAnd a bit closer...

Tree cu

The image is stamped on white cardstock using Basic Gray ink--it's a lighter shade of black so it softens the image a bit. Instead of using a die to cut the image (you are right, there are no dies for this image) I used an old fashioned technique called tearing.  By holding the image in your left hand just pull the paper toward you  with your right hand tear around the stamped image. Use your left fingers to help guide the tearing to keep it close to the stamped image..this leaves a beautiful soft border surrounding the stamped image.

The torn image is mounted on the new Layering Design Vellum. Since I chose the black printed vellum I layered it on white cardstock to give that great contrast.

It's all topped off with a bow of the Evening Evergreen Windowpane ribbon. It is a deep deep green that gives just a hint of color.

Since we're not using a greeting on this card--it's one of those gems that you can have in your stash and use for multiple occasions...birthday, thinking of you, just a note, sympathy...the list goes on.

Stop back by Thursday and check out another card using this set.

Remember: If you use this month's host code (VF9RTPMM) you can earn $5 in Stampin'Up! product (I choose) for every $50 in product that you order (excludes shipping & tax).

Directions:

1. Cut Basic Gray cardstock 4 1/4 X 11, score long side at 5 1/2 (card base).

2. Cut Basic Black cardstock 4 X 5 1/4; adhere to card front with liquid glue

3. Cut Basic White cardstok 3 7/8 X 5 1/8; adhere to black layer with liquid glue.

4. Cut Vellum (Design Layering) 3 13/16 X 5 1/16; adhere to white layer with glue dots under the script to mask them showing through.

5. Stamp image in Basic Gray on Basic White cardstock, tear around the image and adhere to vellum with glue dots.

6. Cut approximately 6" Evening Evergreen Windowpane ribbon and tie in bow--adhere to image with glue dot.
