Today we'll Check out Project #2 by our Guest Creator! If you missed the first project Tuesday you can check it out here  Permalink:

Valerie Eilman is one of the two Dream Team creators who will be sharing projects every other month through June. Here's Valerie's second project using similar supplies from Expressions in Ink DSP & Ephemera & Brilliant wings dies she used for the memory page on Tuesday....

and closer...

Card - cu

Now look closely -- there's a little surprise, keep your eyes on the top butterfly as we open the card...

Card - openingYes, the butterfly is attached to the inside of the card & springs through a die cut hole in the card front.

Here's the card inside...

Card - insideIsn't that fun! Imagine the recipient opening the card and it's as lovely on the inside as it is on the card front!

Now Valerie did something that may make some of you squirm--she cut the dies apart (this kaleidoscope of butterflies is a single die ---as is the stamp so you can stamp and cut them all out at one time.) However, Valerie liked to use the stamps and dies separately so she has cut them apart so each is usable alone..if you don't want to cut the stamps apart you can simply stamp and lay the matching die directly over the stamped image and it will work just fine. (I told you some of you would squirm a bit!)

Many thanks to Valerie for sharing her designs.

Below are the step by step directions followed by the supply list so you can re-create this beautiful page for yourself.

*Jan-Feb is Sale-a-bration--for each $50 in product that you purchase you can select a free product from the Sale-a-bration brochure!

*if you use this month's host code (VXJM3R2D) you can earn $5 in Stampin'Up! product (I choose) for every $50 in product that you order (excludes shipping & tax).

1. Cut Mint Macaron cardstock 8 1/2 X 5 1/2, score long side at 4 1/4 (card base).

2. Cut gold striped designer paper (Expressions in Ink)

3. Cut apart Brilliant Wings dies (or you can omit this & use the large die to cut out the butterflies & not cut opening in card front).

*Using the second largest butterfly die, cut opening in card front --upper left (see photo).
*With same die & 2 smaller ones, cut butterflies from designer series paper AND from Vellum cardstock
*Adhere the designer paper butterflies to the vellum butterflies with dimensionals
in center
*Adhere sequins (Expressions in Ink Ephemera pack) to butterfly heads.
*Adhere large butterfly THROUGH opening in card front to inside of card using 2 glue dots in center--make sure card opens/closes well. Note: if you didn't cut hole in card front, adhere the butterfly in same location just on card front.
*Adhere 2 smaller butterflies to card front with glue dots.
*Adhere 3 more sequins around butterflies on card front--see photo

4. Stamp Happy Birthday inside card in black ink (e.g. Memento #132708) under butterfly; adhere 3 more sequins (see photo).
