What Does a Solid Gold Pumpkin Look Like?

What Does a Solid Gold Pumpkin Look Like? It looks like this--but probably without all those beautiful cutouts!

Expresso card

And a bit closer...

Espresso card cu

This Detailed Pumpkin die was cut from  the Gold Metallic paper--it's a new paper in the annual catalog--you probably saw it used in Tuesday's post...if not..check it out here...https://www.sandilovesstamping.com/2021/10/pretty-little-pumpkins-in-a-row.html

We mentioned Tuesday that the Metallic Gold paper is kind of hidden in the annual catalog so we're bringing out out to make sure you see it. The background of this card is deep brown (Early Espresso) in order to bring out the brilliance of the Gold Metallic paper. As well the verse is stamped on a subdued Crumb Cake cardstock to again provide a bit of contrast with the glimmer and shine of this paper.

When you have such a detailed design as with the pumpkin..it's often better to keep all the other elements "quiet" so that the focal point stays in the forefront of your card.

I've been re-discovering the Color Family Designer papers--in this case the Neutrals--I get all caught up in the new DSP designs and almost forget the beauty that is in those 6X 6 papers that come in quite handy when we need something that doesn't challenge our focal point.

Several products you'll need are in the July-Jan mini catalog. If you don't have a demonstrator & need a copy--just contact me & we'll get one in your hands.

I'll give you  step by step directions for this card followed by the Supply list so you can purchase what you need to re-create this beauty.

Remember if you place an order online & use my monthly Host Code (Y9WQ796M) you'll receive $5 in Stampin'Up! product (I choose) for each $50 in product that you purchase,

Directions:

1. Cut Early Espresso cardstock 8 1/2 X 5 1/2; score long side at 4 1/4; use the Timber embossing folder on the card front (card base).

2. Cut the following layers:

3 1/2 X 4 3/4 Gold foil; adhere to card front with liquid glue

3 3/8 X 4 5/8 Early Espresso; adhere to gold layer with glue dots

    2 7/8 X 4 1/8 Gold foil; adhere to espresso with glue

2 3/4 X 4 Neutrals Early Expresso 6X6 Designer Series Paper; adhere to gold foil with glue dots

3. Die Cut the detailed pumpkin (Detailed pumpkin die) from Gold Metallic paper; adhere to center of last layer with small dots of liquid glue

4. Cut two 7" lengths of gold cord (Simply Elegant trim), tie together in bow and adhere to stem with a glue dot

5. Cut Crumb Cake 1/2 X 1 3/4, stamp Hello Friend (Welcoming Woods stamp set) in black ink (e.g. Memento); adhere to card front with dimensionals.

Pretty Little Pumpkins in a Row

Today we're creating another lovely fall card with Pretty Little Pumpkins in a Row! Check it out ...

Blackberry cardAnd a bit closer look

Blackberry card cu

And a very close look

Blackberry card cu x2

Before we begin discussing the layout thanks to Christie Cox for her shoebox swap card which spawned the design for this one..many thanks, Christie, for a lovely idea.

First, we're creating with the Pretty Pumpkins bundle--whe the dies are used with stunning papers you get a beautiful card. The tall detailed pumpkin is cut from the Blackberry Beauty Designer Series Paper...the gold foil embedded in the blackberry paper gives you that unique blend of color.

The smaller pumpkin is cut from Gold Metallic (not gold foil)...this slightly embossed finish is quite striking & the paper is almost hidden in the annual catalog on page 135, item #7. Since it's well hidden we want to make sure you see it & use it. (note: there is also included in the pack a Rose Gold which is equally glorious to play with.)

Now layer these beauties on the Parisian swirl background & add the verse in swirly script--you have a perfect autumn card.

Directions:

1. Cut Blackberry Bliss cardstock 8 1/2 X 5 1/2, score the long side at 4 1/4 (cardbase).

2. Cut Old Olive cardstock 5 X 3 3/4; adhere to card front with liquid glue.

3. Cut Very Vanilla cardstock 4 7/8 X 3 5/8: put through Parisian Swirl embossing folder; adhere to Olive layer with liquid glue.

4. Die cut tall detailed pumpkin (Pretty Pumpkin bundle) from Blackberry Beauty designer series paper; adhere to card front with small bits of liquid glue.

Quick Simple Stunning and Defnitely Autumn

Today we're creating one of those cards that is Quick Simple Stunning and Definitely Autumn! Here's today's card...we're using the Nature's Harvest stamp set which not only has lovely stamps but the die set is totally awesome (we're not using that today).

Nature's Harvest

A little closer...

Nature's harvest cu

Now before we go on I want to give credit for this card design to a stamping friend of mine, Josie Welsh. We held a shoebox swap and this was Josie's original design--I altered the color and the verse but the rest is hers-so thanks to Josie for the original design.

Back to the card..as you can see we stamped the verse and the floral image in Early Espresso and then added the Watercolor Shape (the rectangle) in So Saffron to highlight the focal point. We then added the little bumblebee and that just sets it off!

As you probably remember I'm a great fan of cards that can be used for multiple purposes--this one fits that quite well--birthday, hello, thinking of you, sympathy...maybe even Thanksgiving. By changing the cardstock color you can alter the mood of the card. I used Daffodil Delight---bright sunny and definitely grabs your attention. But if you used Crumb Cake cardstock you can subdue the mood and use the card for more serious uses.

One of the great features of this card is that it goes together quickly and easily...so if you need several you can easily crank them out in an evening.

The products you'll need are in the July-Jan mini catalog. If you don't have a demonstrator and need a copy--just contact me and we'll get one in your hands.

I'll give you the step by step directions for this card followed by the Supply list so you can purchase what you need to re-create this cutie.

*Stamp flowers (Nature's Harvest) in Early Espresso on right side

*Use Wink of Stella on the petals

*Stamp Watercolor Shapes (rectangle) in So Saffron over floral stamp.

*Put this cardstock through the Timber embossing folder

4. Adhere this piece to the card front with liquid glue.

Where's the Best Place to Put Candy Besides Your Mouth?

Where's the Best Place to Put Cany Besides Your Mouth? It's in the Cutest Halloween Pillow Box...take a peek

Pillow box

Pillow box 2

This little cutie is so very simple to create with the Pillowbox die and a 6X6 piece of Designer Series Paper...today we're focusing on Halloween and so we selected the Cutest Halloween DSP...comes in 6X6 sheets and  one sheet is all you need. You have 6 sheets of 8 designs--so plenty of variety and fun patterns. One side of each sheet is in Halloween colors and the other side is Halloween designs but in Black and White--it's really awesome and you can color the black and white sheets to create even more to choose from.

We created a spiffy little tag with the Halloween punch and stamped the face with the jackolantern stamp from the Cutest Halloween stamp set (both of these are bundled to get your 10% off).  Added one of the Cutest stars and tied it all up with the glittered black ribbon....it only takes a few minutes and since the DSP has 48 sheets you can crank out as many as you need is an evening.

Let Me Show You How to Make a Halloween Moon Shine (Noooo, Not Moonshine!)

Let Me Show You How to Make a Halloween Moon Shine (Noooo, Not Moonshine!) Today's Halloween tag has a huge moon shining behind the bare tree...see how it shines!

Tag

And a bit closer look

Tag cu

We simply die cut the round circle (Layering Circle Dies) from Gold Foil paper--it will catch any light from nearly any source and shine like crazy!

This fun tag will be the highlight of any treat you want to give--the quaint little fence with the traditional tiny pumpkin next to our moonlit tree just couldn't be any cuter. The bat flying by is that last detail that sets the whole image a step above.  Who would have thought the Harvest Meadow Designer Series Paper would end up on a Halloween design, right? But this Crushed Curry piece just fit in so well adding a bit of pizzazz to the background while "staying" in the background and not overpowering the other images.
