Check Out the Secret Design in the Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper

Today we're going to Check Out the Secret Design in the Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper! We're usually so busy checking out the pretty colorful flowers in a pack like Pansy Petals that we miss the secret design hiding on the back side...that's what happened when I turned over the sheet with the pretty tiny pansies--I discovered this lovely Bumblebee design just asking to be used on a card...

Quite Meadow w pansy

And what's the best thing about this card (beside the silhouette, the bees, and the designer paper)? It's the fact that this card (without a specific greeting) can be used for any occasion--for what occasion would this not be appropriate? So not only is it an easy design to create, it's also quick--this means you can create quite a few of these and have a ready stash with that important occasion arrives and you are short on time!

For a card like this with a striking image a good thing to remember (besides looking for the cool secret designs in designer paper) is to use a background paper that is subdued and a smallish print--this way your background won't overpower your focal point--it will enhance it but not take center stage.

I'll give you the step by step directions below followed by the Supply List so you can order your supplies to create this card.

The new July-December mini  is being delivered to doorsteps all over the US right now--Maryland, North Carolina, Florida, Pennsylvania...if you don't have a current demonstrator and would like to receive a copy--email me at [email protected]

It's No Secret, Sweet Symmetry is on Sale!

It's No Secret, Sweet Symmetry is on Sale! And we're going to design a quick and easy card that will help you use that pretty sweet paper...here's the card

Sweet Symmetry dsp

One of the best features of Stampin'Up! Designer Series Paper is that most of the designs in a pack are color coordinated which makes creating a pattern that blends well very easy and quick.  With this card I selected the pretty flower pattern and then grabbed the Jade stripey pattern to coordinate with the green leaves in the flower design.  That meant selecting the deeper blue-green Shaded Spruce cardstock to back the white label....now everything hangs together and coordinates perfectly.

This makes card design a breeze--the stripey bottom border overlayed with that cute large scalloped edge of the flowery pattern. Just add a greeting and a bit of sparkle (it's hard to design a card without pizzazz!)--then we're ready to mail!

This Sweet Symmetry designer paper is also on sale until 8-2-21--order yours while it's on sale!

I'll give you the step by step directions below followed by the Supply List so you can order your supplies to create this card.

How to Let the Magic of Your'e A Peach Designer Paper Design Your Next Card

Today we're again exploring How to Let the Magic of You're a Peach Designer Paper Design Your Next Card! Today's DSP is You're a Peach

155686

I selected near solid design (has dots), one medium print, and one coordinating small print---they all share Flirty Falmingo with a sprinkling of Old Olive.  This points to a card base of Flirty (with layer of white) and Old Olive with Flirty Flamingo inks for the stamping. See how easy card design is when you start with dsp?

Here's today's creation:

Sweet as a Peach

This design can be utilized for any number of designer papers that have primarily small designs---as with our Tuesday design the larger patterns won't work as well with this because of the small rectangles being used.

Plus this designer paper is also on sale until 8-2-21--order yours while it's on sale!

I'll give you the step by step directions below followed by the Supply List so you can order your supplies to create this card.

How to Let the Magic of In Symmetry Designer Paper Design Your Next Card

Today I'll show you How to Let the Magic of Sweet Symmetry Designer Paper Design Your Next Card. The Sweet Symmetry Designer Series Paper has a wonderful way of putting the colors & designs together so card making is very simple-- it's hard to go wrong!

Starting with...

155605

The first step is selecting 3 prints that share colors --- this is simple since most all designs share color with other designs. I select one with a directional design (e.g. stripes), one with definite pattern, & one color on color-- it can have a pattern but mostly one color.  Here's the card--

Sweet Symmetry

After picking the patterns it's easy to select the card base & layers (Bumblebee, So Saffron, Vanilla, Just Jade), inks for stamping (Calypso Coral, Just Jade) as well as the ribbon. The paper pretty much designs the card for you.

This design can be utilized for any number of designer papers that have primarily small designs---the larger patterns won't work as well with this because of the small rectangles being used.

Best of all this designer paper is on sale until 8-2-21--order yours while it's on sale!

I'll give you the step by step directions below followed by the Supply List so you can order your supplies to create this card.

Flower

Isn't that a fun card? Just stamp the flower center (small circle) then using the large oval add the petals. Once the flower is formed use the smaller oval stamp to form the stem and leaves....quick, fast and fun!

*Stamp small circle (Watercolor Shapes) in Early Espresso slightly above center.

Secret: When stamping the petals below place the center end of the oval on the opposite side of the center circle--so that each petal will be perfectly aligned. This means that the center circle will be overstamped 8 times--once for each petal.

*Using large oval (Watercolor Shapes) in Calypso Coral ink begin stamping petal at bottom slightly to right of center, stamp next petal directly opposite this petal...

Flower step 1

        * Stamp another petal 90 degrees on either side; stamp next petal directly across from this one...

Flower step 2

*Stamp additional petals in between these so there are a total of 8 petals.

*Using small oval, stamp stem and 2 leaves in Garden Green ink.

*Stamp small dots (Artistically Inked) in Flirty Flamingo ink to accent the background.

4. Die cut small label (Art Gallery stamp and dies) from white cardstock; stamp Best Wishes in Memento ink. Adhere to card front with dimensionals.

5. Adhere white later to black layer & this unit to card front with liquid glue.

Learn How To Create a Multilevel Background with a Single Stamp & Ink

Today we'll Learn How To Create a Multilevel Background with a Single Stamp & Ink. If you haven't seen Tuesday's seaworthy background you can check it out here... https://www.sandilovesstamping.com/2021/07/exploring-fast-fantastic-backgrounds-with-watercolor-shapes-.html. Today we're using the same stamp set, Watercolor Shapes, and creating a back ground that looks multilevel with lots of depth with only a single stamp and a single color of ink....

Shaded Summer

Here's a bit closer look..

Shaded summer cuSee how we created the depth by simply stamping three time using the single ink color and just moving the stamp about 3/4" down and to the right each time....the overlapping colors give you the appearance of a deeper darker layer as you move that center area again and again.

It's such an easy and quick technique that you can create this card in about 5 minutes and it appears you have taken a long time to create this in depth beauty. The contrasting silhouette stamp is quite striking against the softer color tones. Adding a touch of Wink of Stella to the flowers brings a highlight that is quick and atractive. We've added the new 2021-2023 In Color (Soft Succulent) Jewels that catch the passing light. Quick, easy and stunning!

Exploring Fast & Fantastic Backgrounds with Watercolor Shapes

Today we're Exploring Fast & Fantastic Backgrounds with Watercolor Shapes! It's so easy to create a beautiful eye-catching background that sets up your primary image in a speedy way! Check out this card...

Seascape

Here's a bit closer look...

Seascape cu

See those large (and small) "bubbles" in the background--isn't that a perfect set up for the beautiful copper fish?  Without the bubbles you have a bit of seaweed and greenery but add those bubbles and you tie it all together in a perfect setting for that gorgeous fish. Using the same color ink as the cardstock (Pool  Party) you don't focus on the bubbles--they blend well into the background yet provide a super layer for that fish to swim on.

The Watercolor shapes (circles, square, rectangles, ovals) lend themselves to a variety of uses---it's like having a set it building blocks and your imagination is the limit. For this card we're only using the two circles..drop back by Thursday and check out what we did with a simple use of 3 large rectangles.
