Do you want to see a "Brilliant" Kaleidoscope?

Do you want to see a "Brilliant" KaleidoscopeDid you know a group of butterflies is called a Kaleidoscope? What a fun name for a bunch of butterflies--so I thought this card fit that description very well.

Vellum card

The background is that beautiful Butterfly Bijou Designer Series paper--with a definite Kaleidoscope of butterflies. Using two of the watercolor designer papers for the under-butterflies, I cut two of the butterfly overlays in white to top them off.

With most of the hard work done for you with that lovely designer paper, this card takes only minutes to assemble but looks much more difficult.

Let me remind you of the "brilliant idea" we discussed last week. Let's say you want to create 10 cards using just one of those six butterflies in the single stamp---what can you do so that you don't have to stamp all 6 butterflies?

I Took Stampin'Up! Butterfly Brilliance Out of the Trash!

Today I took Stampin'Up! Brilliance Out of the TrashYes, it's true!

I stamped the multi-butterfly stamp on white cardstock, die cut the multi-butterfly die -- tossed negative image in the trash. Then I really "looked" at the  negative image  & saw this.

Trash

I "saw" this awesome stencil (mask)...I snatched it out of the transh & here's what transpired with some ink & sponges...

Sponged background card

Look closely --you'll see butterfly images in that gorgeous eye-popping background paper. I simply used 3 inks, sponges, repositioning the mask each time I switched ink color.

It Takes a Bit of Brass to Create a Card with Butterfly Brilliance by Stampin'Up!

It Takes a Bit of Brass to Create a card with Butterfly Brilliance by Stampin'Up (Before we go on--read all the way down to see what the Brilliant Idea is.)

See what I mean....

Flirty card

Take a closer look at the butterfly...

Flirty clos up

I simply stamped the single butterfly stamp with all 6 images

Multi stamp on whtie csThen I used the single die to cut them all out at the same time. Now I have 6 butterflies with which to create.

However, let's say you want to create 10 cards using just one of those butterflies---what can you do so that you don't have to stamp all 6 butterflies or try to get your cardstock positioned just so to stamp just one?

Here's a Brilliant Idea--purchase a separate stamp set ($17), cut apart the butterflies---no it will not damage any of them because they are each completely separate images. Now you can stamp each one singly very simply and easily while leaving the other stamp whole to stamp all 6 at one time! Brilliant, right?

Stamping Only with Stampin'Up! Butterfly Brilliance

Today we're going to explore Stamping Only with Stampin'Up! Butterfly Brilliance! If you were following us last week you saw projects with the single die and one using a single butterfly from the multidie. Today's card is created very quickly and very easily using the single multi-stamp of 6 butterflies...that's all ---just that one stamp and take a look at the results.

Multi stamped card lighter

This card is gorgeous and super quick...just stamp the single image (all 6 are on a single stamp) on white cardstock, color with your favorite pallette of Blends and you have a card with stunning pizzazz. Of course, I did add a layer of Wink of Stella on the butterflies after coloring and that gives that touch of sparkle that raises the design to the next level.

I originally intended to add a greeting to the card but couldn't find a place I wanted to cover so I decided it was complete and my verse can go on the inside! What do you think? Add a verse--leave as is?

The fun thing about this card (other than how quickly you can stamp it) is that you can choose whatever colors you like blues and greens, pink and yellows--any collection of colors looks 'brilliant.'
