The dotted curve and the curvy leaf relief cuts are both wonderfully easy dies to use...then I took the "trash" leaf cut outs and used them to accent on the plaid background...this card can easily be done in 15 minutes. The photopolymer stamps can be gently bent to fit your curves if they don't match up as they are removed from the case...just curve them and press onto the clear block..then stamp anywhere along the curve.

The dies and stamps make creating these amazing curvy designs so easy...I'll give you the step by step directions for this one below followed by the Supply List--remember you will be able to purchase this 11/1/21--SOON!

The Surprise Is Inside!

The Surprise Is Inside!

We usually think about pretty cards & designing the perfect card front...right? Take a look at this one...

1 snowflakecard 1 snowflake card cu

But, that's not the end of card making---what really can put your card over the top is what you do after that! Yes, there's a whole canvas on the inside just begging to be used....

1 inside full view 1 - inside

See what I mean? The inside can be just as beautiful as the card front...this wonderful idea was part of the lovely card shared by GG Williams in our Show & Tell Zoom call Monday. (If you are interested in being part of the Show & Tell zoom call every other Monday at 7:30P contact me & we'll sign you up [email protected]).

So when you finish the front, keep on designing the inside too!

Now that's not the end of the story...there's always the envelope that can coordinate with that lovely card you designed....

1-Envelope

What fun! Now you have a completely designed card and envelope--what a wonderfully coordinated set.

Using the Designer Series Papers makes all the coordination quite easy...in this case I used one sheet for all 3 focuses...but you can mix& match them because these sets of designer papers are designed to mix & match. For this set we used the Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper which is on sale until the end of October.

Remember that the Designer Series sale ends 10/31 and Snowflake Splendor paper is on the sale list for 15% off!  The entire list of designer papers on sale can be downloaded here Download 10.01.20_FLYER_DSP_SALE_US

How to "Light" Up your Holidays

Today you'll learn how to "Light" Up your Holidays! We'll be using that totally beautiful flocked vellum (Plush Poinsettia Specialty Paper....check it out

Unlit votive

...and here's with the tea light lit...

Lighted votiveImagine using these beauties at each place setting at the holiday table...if your table is at Thanksgiving, just change the ribbon and the tag----this design will work for any holiday.

Need a quick gift for your friends or workmates--work a dozen of these up in an evening--or make this a holiday tradition and create these with your family.

The best part? The Plush Poinsettia Specialty Paper has 6 sheets per pack! There are 3 designs (2 sheets of each per pack) so you can make a doze of these with one pack of paper! Great bargain.

The step by step directions are followed by the Supply list where you can order your supplies. If you place an order online & use this month's host code (J34GCWB9) you'll receive $5 in Stampin'Up! product from me (selected by me) for each $50 in product you purchase.

Directions:

1. Cut Plush paper 4 1/2 X 8 1/2, score the long side at 2, 4, 6, and 8"; score the short side at 2". Note: Use the scoring tool on your paper trimmer followed by reinforcing with your bone folder to get good creases or use score board with a stylus.

2. Fold the 1/2 section & the next section (second vertical fold) back over the remainder of the piece; use the scallop edge die (Peony dies) to cut the scalloped top edge.

3. Cut out the 1/2" X 2" piece leaving the 1/2" X 2 1/2" piece on the unit; cut small angled pieces from each end of the 1/2 X 2 1/2" piece attached to the main body...(the bottom sections are 2 X 2 and will be the bottom of the holder; the top row would be edged with the scallop die.

Template4. Adhere Tear & Tape on the 'wrong' side; place a piece of Tear & Tape on the 'right' side of the 1/2" X 2 1/2" tab (see the righthand edge--the tape would appear on the other (good) side:

Tape placement

5. Remove backing from the tape; starting with the section next to the untaped square, adhere the 2nd section underneath the untaped section. Then adhere the 3rd section under the 2nd section; lastly adhere the 4th section under the 3rd section--you now have your container (taped sections are the botto) with the open tabbed edge. Remove the covering from the tape on the tab & adhere that to the under side of the next section thus completing the holder.

6. Glue dot a piece of double stitched red satin ribbon approximately 3/4" from scalloped edge around holder. Tie a bow with a separate piece & glue dot this over the ribbon where the ends meet.

7. Stamp the tiny holly (Gift Wrapped stamps) in black ink (e.g Memento); color the leaves green (e.g. Light Shaded Spruce Blend) ; punch out with the tiny label portion of the Bow punch. Add 3 red rhinestones (see photo). Add tag to holder with a dimensional.

Add your tea light and your votive holder is complete!

The Secret to Not Coloring

Today I'll show you The Secret to Not Coloring.  Often we want to create a card with great colored images but we don't have the time or energy to find our coloring tools and decide on which colors to use and what coordinates well with our cardstock...so here's the secret...don't color....use your designer series paper and it takes care of all those issues in an instant---

*saves you time--don't have to get out your coloring tools

*the DSP lists the colors that are in the DSP so you can choose the cardstock base, and

*the colors are already coordinated for you!

Doesn't get much better than that!

So where's the proof...

AppleSo here's the proof--cute card, right? It was super quick..I selected my designer paper--today I used the Plaid Tidings 6 X 6 pack--great designs in this pack that cover an entire year of needs. I then decided I wanted the apple to pop so used Very Vanilla cardstock as the base. No coloring but the card has plenty of color and pizzazz. Then just to add some interest...I used Artistry Blooms adhesive-backed sequins to add some extra coordinating color (without me doing the coloring)

I'll give you the step by step directions to create this card followed by the supply list.
