Creating fun card designs with Designer Series Paper

Today we're starting a series called Creating Fun Card Designs with Designer Series Paper. Today we're featuring Plaid Tidings---this pack of paper has 24 totally awesome plaid images--they can be used for every season of the year...the card below is using a beautiful fall set of colors and images.

Plaid card

Doesn't that designer paper really make this card pop? And it's so simple to use because the colors are already perfect together , the pattern is already designed, and all I have to do is cut and glue!  It also makes selecting the cardstock and accessories so easy--I just use colors that are in the designer paper or that contrasts well with it. Makes card designing a snao.

I'll give you the step by step directions to create this card followed by the supply list.

Remember that the Designer Series sale begins 10/1 and Plaid Tidings is on the sale list for 15% off!  The entire list of designer papers on sale can be downloaded here Download 10.01.20_FLYER_DSP_SALE_US

The Sunflower Secret

Want to know The Sunflower Secret? Today I'll show you how to create a really lovely sunflower using a secret die!! Check out the sunflower...

Daffodil

If you haven't guessed the secret yet, here's a close up of the sunflower...

Daffodil close up

OK, now you know the secret...we used the poinsettisa dies with the Daffodil Delight cardstock--isn't it beautiful. I love it when we can use a die for multiple uses...since the poinsettia is primarily viewed as a Christmas flower---we have now expanded the use for an all year die by changing the color of the paper and using a slightly larger flower center.

I used removable tape to hold the petal embossing die inside the open cutting die---this make it easy to do the cutting and embossing all in one step.

Here are the layered dies:

Here's how they are taped together with removable tape.

How to Do Reverse Embossing with a Twist

Today I'll show you How to Do Reverse Embossing with a Twist! If you were checking out the post on Monday we were learning how to do Reverse Embossing...stamping the image on white cardstock and sprinkling with clear embossing powder then heating that up! You could see the white image below the sponging of bright colors on top. If you missed it you can see it here https://www.sandilovesstamping.com/2020/08/how-to-do-reverse-embossing-on-a-card.html

Today we're going to create a 2-toned background by using a Soft Seafoam cardstock, embossing the image with clear embossing powder and then sponging the layer with Shaded Spruce--a beautiful dark green...then instead of white you'll see the soft lighter green where we stamped with Versamark and used the clear embossing powder on top...using this technique you create a beautiful 2-tone green background for your card design.
