Another Mini Christmas Lantern

Today we're creating Another Mini Christmas Lantern using the Mini Curvy Keepsake die. There are so many treat and gift ideas using this die and today we're creating another decorating idea with it. Stars - closed

We are using the star design from the Brightly Gleaming Designer Series Paper, cutting stars in each side and covering the cutout with vellum...this provides a lovely soft light from within. Layering a copper foil star over the opening and crowning that with a copper star element...makes this beauty hard to resist.

I'll give you the directions to create this lantern followed by the Supply list so you can order your supplies to create your own.  Remember if you place an online order (hit the Shop Now button) and use this month's Host code (CWJCVXS7) and you'll receive $5 in product for each $50 in product that you purchase.

Directions:

1. Cut a piece of designer paper 5.5 X 5.5. Cut the mini curvy keepsake box with your die cutting machine. Fold on all the score lines using a bone folder (#102300) to help make the firm creases. Cut a 1 1/2 X 1 1/2 square from Night of Navy cardstock, adhere to inside box bottom with glue dots.

2. Using the small star die (So Many Stars dies) cut a star opening in each "side" of the box. Cut a small piece of vellum and position over each star cutout on the inside of the box (use glue dots on the vellum).

3. Insert a battery-operated tea light inside and fold together the handles of the box. Stars - open

4. Cut a medium star from copper foil and adhere over the star in the front panel; adhere a copper star element in the center.

5. Tie a bow in a 9" piece of copper trim--attach to the box handle with a glue dot.

Your box is ready to go!
