Sparkling Six-Sided Sampler...say that 3 times!

The Stampin'Up! Six Sided Sampler Stamp set is one of my favorites of the retiring sets that will be leaving us 5/31 (note: we are assured we can order these until 5/22; after that it's only while supplies last)

This stamp set is awesomely versatile--you can use these stamps to create some wonderful backgrounds or to use as a focal point.  In today's card it is a bit of both--the stamps provide a background for the beautiful butterfly but also are part of the focal area on the cardfront.

  5-10-16 Six-sided sampler

I'm going to give you step by step directions for this beauty followed by a list of supplies you'll need to re-create this card.

  1. Cut a piece of thick Whisper White cardstock 8 1/2 X 5 1/2; on the long side score at 5 1/2 (this is your card base).
  2. Cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock 5 1/4 X 4 1/4; Using the small spots stamp (Gorgeous Grunge stamp set) stamp diagonally from left to right using Pool Party classic ink for a splattered background. Adhere this piece to the card front using dimensionals.
  3. On a piece of scrap Whisper White cardstock, pick your favorite  5 hexagonal designs and stamp in Bermuda Bay ink; punch out with the hexagonal punch (#130919, $16.00). Arranged as shown in picture and adhere to the card front using dimensionals.
  4. Stamp the  "hello sweet friend" (from Six-Sided Sampler stamp set) below the hex pieces in Versamark ink and sprinkle with Silver Embossing Powder, tap off excess and heat with Heat Tool until silver and shiny.
  5. Cut a piece of Silver Glimmer paper  approximately 1/4 X 5"; cut the ends at a diagonal; Adhere to the front of the hexes using glue dots (see pic for placement)
  6. Using the small fancy butterfly  (Bold Butterfly framelits) cut an image from the Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper using the Precision Base plate and the Big Shot (sandwich = precision base plate, glimmer paper (face down), framelit, standard cutting pad); adhere center of butterfly to the silver glimmer strip on the far left using a glue dot. Add a large rhinestone to the head of the butterfly.

Your card is completed! Isn't it awesome! You can change the ink colors and you'll create a completely new effect! Enjoy!
