DIY Quick Gift Wrap

I had a small but oddly shaped gift to wrap and didn't have any boxes that would work. So I decided to wrap it in colorful holiday tissue paper...well, then I bumped it and a hole tore in the edge. S0000, I decided the tissue needed protection and I used the gusseted cello bags to do just that...here's the result! A quick and easy DIY wrap solution that can be accomplished in seconds!

  12-17-15 DIY Gift Bag

Here's how I did it

-Place the gift in the middle of the tissue and pull the tissue up on all sides holding it by the "neck"

-Stuff this into the gusseted cello bag

-Using an 18" piece of the striped Vanilla ribbon, tie around the "neck" in a bow, add a cute tag

You are done! Doesn't it look festive and fun?

DIY - Christmas Snowman Candy Bar --Inexpensive gifts!

Need a fun but inexpensive gift for your co-workers, clubs, groups, neighbors, friends?  Try this  little cutie!

12-8-15 Snowman candy bar

Yep, this DIY snowman gift has a a big chocolate bar inside and the outside is just as much fun! The best part is that it is inexpensive! I'm going to give you the directions and following that--I'll provide the supply list so you can purchase what you need to create these cute inexpensive gifts.

Here's how to create this gift

  1.  Wrap a piece of Whisper White card stock around your candy bar (this size will depend on your candy bar--so measure the length--cut the length from the long side of the cardstock; then wrap the cardstock around and secure the ends together with Tear and Tape,
  2. Using a dauber color the cheeks with Blushing Bride ink. Punch two 1"circles from Pool Party cardstock--glue these on as the eye base with multipurpose liquid glue. Punch two 3/4" circles from white cardstock and layer on the 1"circles with liquid glue. Punch two 1/2" circles from scrap black cardstock and layer on top of the white. Using the chalk marker make small semicircles in the outer part of the black--see picture.
  3. Cut a triangle from Pumpkin pie cardstock and glue on as the nose.
  4. Using the extra large oval punch, move a piece of scrap red cardstock about halfway into the punch--punch and toss this piece in the trash. Now move the cardstock up about 1/4" (make sure the ends form points) and punch out the smile--adhere this with liquid glue.
  5. Cut a piece of striped Bermuda ribbon and tie about the base of the candy bar and tie in a knot.
  6. Take a knitted mitten and fit the cuff over the top of the candy bar. Using a 15"piece of silver cording, pull the mitten tight right over the top of the bar and tie the cording in a bow.

You are done! How simple was that?

DIY - Cookie Cutter Ornament

Do you want a really cute quick gift for someone special? Try this cute little DIY Cookie Cutter Ornament!  The neat trick is that you can use just about any cookie cutter shape for this! We use the Sleighride Edgelits by Stampin'Up! for the sleigh and the background trees....it goes together in minutes!

  12-4-15 Cookies Cutter Ornament

I'm going to give you directions and below that is the supply list for this project.

 1. Trace around the cookie cutter with a pencil on Night of Navy cardstock and (using your paper snips--these are an awesome tool for this step) cut OUTSIDE your pencil mark. This gives you a small border that will be just what you need when we glue on the backing later.

2. In the upper half of the the cut out shape, stamp tiny stars (Holly Jolly Greetings stamp set by Stampin'Up!) in Versamark, sprinkle with Silver embossing  powder and heat with heat tool until bright and shiny.

3. Cut a strip of Silver Glimmer paper that will be long enough to cover the bottom half of the cookie cutter and wide enough to span the width of the cookie cutter. Using the trees from the Sleighride edgelits, cut the background of trees using your Stampim'Up Big Shot (#113439). Adhere this to the bottom half of the navy cut out using multipurpose adhesive....leave this sit for a few minutes without disturbing so the glue will firmly set.

4. Using a strip of Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper that will cover the bottom half of the silver glimmer and wide enough to span the cookie cutter width. Using the sleigh from the Sleighride edgelits, cut the sleigh and attach to the bottom of the silver glimmer using glue dots.  Using your paper snips trim the two pieces of glimmer paper to fit the original Navy cardstock shape.

5. Using the 3/4" Circle punch, hold a scrap of Silver Foil paper halfway into the punch--punch this and toss this piece. Still holding the punch where you did the original punch, move the punch forward about 1/4"--make sure the two side edges meet the cardstock in points--this will be the moon. Adhere this to the starry sky using a glue dot.

6. Adhere the cardstock to the back of the cookie cutter with Finetip Glue Pen.  Weigh down the cookie cutter for a couple of minutes using something heavy until the glue dries well.

7. Using 8"of silver cording, tie the two ends in a know and adhere to the back top of the navy cardstock using a glue dot.

8. Tie a bow using 8"of the 1/8" red striped ribbon and adhere tot he top of the cookie cutter using a glue dot.

You  are done! Enjoy!

DIY - Cute Packaging

Have a small gift and want to make it AWESOME in a great presentation packaging? (I LOVE to get cute packaging!). Well here's a great answer to that need....DIY Wide stamp case using Designer Paper...isn't this really the neatest? I'm going to give you the easy quick steps and after that I'll give you the supply list for this project.

12-1-15 Stamp Box

Here's how to make this:

  1. Cut 7 X 11  3/8 piece of Home for Christmas designer paper--I used the ornament design. Open the wide plastic stamp case and bend back the two sides--hold open the plastic covering and slip in the designer paper.  Carefully close the box and the outer design will show off the outside of the box and the other side will decorate the inside--awesome, right?
  2. 2. Using a 20" piece of Very Vanilla 1 1/4" striped ribbon, tie around the box (you may want to slip in the gift now! LOL) and tie in a knot.
  3. Stamp the Noel (Antique Tags stamp set--it's a hostess set*) in Versamark on a scrap of Very Vanilla cardstock, sprinkle with Gold embossing powder and heat with heat tool until shiny gold. Punch out image with the Label Bracket punch.
  4. Using the 1/8" circle handheld punch, punch a hole in the top of the tag. Slip a 10" piece of gold cording through the hole and tie around the know.

You are done! Wasn't that easy?

*Hostess sets are available to hostesses of stamping events or you can place an order for $150 and earn host rewards--you can use these rewards to purchase hostess stamp sets. This set is available only until 1/3/16 (the date when the Holiday mini retires)
