Halloween Treat - Quick and Easy

9-25-15 Square Pillow Box Halloween Treat

Here are the instructions--

1. Cut 2 pieces from your favorite sheet of Happy Haunting Designer Series Paper using the Square Pillow Box framelit (part of the bundle with the A Little Something Stamp Set---save 15% when you buy them together---see below).

2. Before you assemble the pillow box, fold down one piece approximately 1 1/4"from the top of the piece--trim off any excess seams with your paper snips. Now assemble the pillow box as usual using multipurpose glue (or Tear & Tape #138995). Note: if you interlock the flaps instead of just folding one over the other, any treats you put inside will stay snuggly in and not fall out.

3. Tie a piece of black satin ribbon around the pillow box which will hold the flap you folded down in place.

4. Stamp "A little something for you"(A Little something stamp set) in Versamark on Very Vanilla cardstock-sprinkle with gold embossing powder, heat with heat tool until bright shiny gold. Punch out with 1 3/8"circle punch (#119860).

5. Punch the gold glimmer paper with the Bracket Label punch. Adhere the stamped circle to this with glue dots. Punch a 1/8"hole in the top of the glimmer paper and tie around the black satin ribbon with 9" gold cording.

6. Punch the acorn from kraft corrugated cardstock with the Acorn Builder punch. Punch the acorn cap from the orange sheet of Happy Hauntings designer paper and adhere the cap to the top of the corrugated acorn with multipurpose glue. Attach the acorn to the box flap using a glue dot!

You are done! Enjoy

2. Using a small ruler, mark a dot at 2 1/2"from the top point down the side of the triangle you just made. Take the point on the left side and make it touch the dot--use a bone folder to crease well. You may use a glue dot to hold the point in place.

9-22-15 2

3. Take the point on the right side and make it touch the fold corner on the left side, again use the bone folder to make the crease sharp. You may use a glue dot to hold the point in place.

9-22-15 3

Sweet Little Angel Ornament

Isn't she the sweetest little angel ornament you've seen lately?

Festive flower punch angel

 Guess how she's created?

The Festive Flower Punch from Stampin'Up! Holiday Mini catalog....yep, she's made with a flower punch. I'm going to explain how she's created and put together and after the directions is a list of supplies you'll need.

Here's how she's constructed:

1. Punch one large petal and 2 medium petals with the Festive Flower Punch from the Pool Party piece of Home for Christmas Designer Series Paper. Glue dot them together at the top point--fanning them out to make the gown.

2. Punch the 2 small petals (the part on the punch that is in the center) from silver foil paper. With a bone folder you can ease the curl in both petals and bring the points into the center and secure with a glue dot (this is  the bow under her chin). Adhere a large Pearl to the center.

3. Punch a 3/4" circle from Blushing Bride cardstock; draw eyelashes with a Black Stampin'Write marker. Adhere this to the top of the gown with a glut dot.

4. Using a 3/4"circle punch, punch a hole in the Silver glimmer paper (punch 2 of these). Around this hole, punch a 1"circle. This is the halo.  Cut a 6"piece of silver cording and sandwich it between the 2 silver halo's with glue dots. Ahdere the halow (with the embedded hanger) to the back of the angel head.

5, Last but most important--the bling! Adhere a Winter Wonderland Element to the center of the gown with a glue dot.

You are done! Enjoy

Gift Tag with Delicate Ornaments Thinlet

Today, we're going to explore using the Delicate Ornaments Thinlet to create a pretty little gift tag. Hint: this could easily turn into a really pretty greeting card.

9-11-15 Ornament Tag

Here's how you create this gift tag:

1. Cut 3 X 6 from Bermuda Bay cardstock, score the long side at 3"(this is your tag base).

2. Cut 2 5/8 X 2 5/8 from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper and 2 1/2 X 2 1/2 white cardstock.

3. Stamp the corner snowflakes (Happy Scenes) in Bermuda Bay ink in all 4 corners of the white cardstock. Adhere this to the Dazzling Diamonds paper with glue dots and adhere this unit to the front of the tag base with glue dots.

4. Using the small round ornament thinlet (Delicate Ornament thinlets) set up your Big Shot sandwich like this: Big Shot multipurpose platform with Tab 2, Precision Base Platform*, 2 1/2 X 2 1/2 Pool party cardstock, Standard cutting pad. Run this through the Big Shot.

Note: I find it easy to remove the tiny pieces from the ornament by leaving the cardstock attached to the thinlit, putting a 6-8 layer dryer sheet under the cardstock and running back through the Big Shot--takes only seconds and all the work is done for you.

5. Adhere the ornament to the center of the tag using the new Fine Tip Glue (forgot to include below--this is the item number: 138309). You may want to set a weight on top for about a minute so that all edges remain in touch with the white cardstock underneath.

6. While it's drying, tie a bow in the 1/8" silver metallic ribbon, adhere this to the top of the ornament with a glue dot. Attach a Winter Wonderland Embellishment to the center of the ornament using a glue dot.

You are done! Enjoy! Below are the items you will need. Order these now using the Shop Now button!

*Precision Base Platform is a delightful tool that gives you very crisp cuts with the thinklets that have very intricate designs---it is not required, but it is recommended to use this when cutting out this type of design)

Keeping my promise, Give Thanks card

I'm keeping my promise! Here's a new card using some of the new products you'll see in the new Holiday mini catalog (that is not so 'mini')! This is a Give Thanks card, (Thankful Forest Friends stamp set) although you can substitute the stamp and use it for many occasions.....I'm going to tell you how to create this card and give you the supply list needed.

9-8-15 Give Thanks card

Here's how to make it:

1. Cust 8 1/2 X 5 1/2 Mossy Meadow cardstock, score at 4 1/4 on the long side--this is your card base.

2. Cut a piece of Into the Woods Designer Series Paper (use the design you like best--there are many to choose from) 3 3/4 x 5; adhere to the card front with multipurpose liquid adhesive.

3. Cut a piece of Crushed Curry cardstock 3 X 3; cut a piece of gold foil 2 5/8 X 2 5/8--adhere to the crushed curry with glue dots (this is because the foil has a slick backing--liquid will work ok too just give it time to dry well).

4 On a 2 1/2 X 2 1/2 Very Vanilla cardstock, stamp Give Thanks (Thankful Forest Friends stamp set) in Mossy Meadow Classic Ink. Adhere this to the gold foil--again, best adhesive will be glue dots.

5. Adhere the acorn and the leaf Wooden In the Wood Elements with glue dots (or liquid glue) (see picture).

6. Tie a bow in an 8"piece of gold Cording Trim and adhere to the middle of the leaf scroll at the top of the stamped image (I used glue dot).

You are done! How simple was that--again, you can adapt this design to many different designer papers and stamps--enjoy!
