Memory Keeping at its best!

I know you have pictures that are tucked away gathering dust and not being enjoyed--we all do--join the club. Speaking of clubs, we have a group of ladies you gather every 3rd Friday of the month to create a 12 X 12 two-page spread. At the end of the year, they have a full album of gorgeous pages that can be placed in an album and given as a truly awesome gift to someone dear.  When they leave the class, they have completed the 2 pages and are ready to insert pictures...here are the pages for this month:

Watercolor Wash Stampin'Up! Stamp

Take a good look at the background on this card---see the 2 inks and the "wash" effect that makes it look like the fish is swimming through the water?  This is done with this awesome new stamp called Watercolor Wash---it's super easy...here's how!

8-14-15 watercolor wash

1. Cut 8 1/2 X 5 1/2 Island Indigo cardstock, score at 4 1/4 on long side (card  base. Cut 5 1/4 X 4 Basic Black cardstock and adhere to card front with multipurpose liquid glue.

2. Cut 3 7/8 X 5 1/8 white cardstock--we're going to stamp on this.

3. Ink up a brayer (#102395) with Pool Party ink and brayer over the Watercolor Wash stamp--stamp on white cardstock. Clean the stamp and the brayer--ink up again with Pear Pizazz ink and stamp over the Pool party--offset the image just a bit....background is completed--see how quick that was?

4. Stamp the seaweed (By the Tide stamp set) in Stazon Jet Black in both lower corners.

5. Stamp the fish (By the Tide stamp set) in Island Indigo right above the seaweed. Adhere a couple of rhinestones as if they are bubbles leaving the fish mouth.

6. Stamp Happy Birthday (Sassy Salutations) in Versamark ink (#102283) in the upper part of the white cardstock; sprinkle with gold embossing powder and heat with heat tool until shiny gold. Adhere the stamped cardstock to the cardfront.

Brushstroke Background Stamp

Check out this card...love that striped background? It's really easy with the new Brushstroke background stamp....

  8-11-15 Brushstrokes

Here's how to create this card and the supply list is below--you can purchase your supplies through the Shop Now button

1. Cut 8 1/2 X 5 1/2 Tip Tip Taupe cardstock and score at 4 1/4 on the long side (cardbase)

2. Cut 5 3/8 X 4 1/8 Blushing Bride cardstock; adhere to cardbase front with multipurpose liquid glue.

3.Cut 5 1/4 X 4 Shimmery White cardstock.

4. With Daubers, ink up with Tip Top Taupe and dauber ink on every 3rd stripe of the stamp; using Blushing Bride ink (and a new dauber) ink up each strip next to the Taupe inked stripe; using Watermelon Wonder ink (and a new dauber) ink up each strip left uninked. (You may want to huff your breath over the stamp to re-wet--I have never found this necessary but if you find when you stamp that your ink is not laying down well--this is a good remedy). Now stamp the Shimmery white cardstock.

5. Adhere this piece to the card front.

6. Using a scrap piece of black cardstock, cut out hello with the Greetings thinlets and adhere to the bottom of the card front with liquid glue.

7.Punch 2 Bitty Butterflies from scrap Watermelon cardstock and adhere to the left of the card front with glue dots. If you like bling--add a couple of rhinestones.

8. Using Dazzling Diamonds glimmer  paper, cut a big butterfly using the Butterflies Framelits and add a large Rhinestone (see picture)

9. Now for some real fun: Taking your 3 large butterflies stamps (Watercolor Wings) stamp on shimmery white card stock in 3 layers as follows:
    A. solid image in Blushing Bride ink
    B. wing outline in Watermelon Wonder ink
C middle layer in Tip Tip Taupe ink
Now cut this out with the Bold Butterflies framelits; adhere to right cardfront and layer Dazzling Diamond buttterfly over it--using glue dots!

Done! Enjoy

Happy Notes

4. On scrap Whisper White cardstock stamp the flower image (from Watercolor Words stamp set) 3 times, stamp the leaf image in Wild Wasabi Classic in two times. Hand cut these with the paper snips (#103579--these are the best buy of the century--you need these for hand cutting made easy!)

5. Adhere these in a bunch under the greeting with dimensionals. Tie a bow from approximately 6 inches of Smoky Slate thick twine and adhere to the base of the flower 'bunch' with a glue dot.

6. Punch 2 butterflies from scarp So Saffron cardstock, pull wings together and grab a glue dot on the tummy--adhere above the greeting. Adhere a small Rhinestone to the top center of the butterflies!

Cottage Greeting Cards - Let's Make Them!

Need to have a stash of gorgeous cards that are so quick to make that you can complete a single card in less that 10 minutes--5 minutes is probably closer to reality--but let's just say you take 5 minutes to decide which of the 3 designs to actually make and send!

Here's what they look like up close...

  Annual15_p094_a

Everything that you need is included in the kit except a greeting stamp set, ink (to stamp the greeting) and adhesive (dimensionals are included in the kit). The kit even contains the Stampin'Up! quality envelopes with the silver foil liners--the look is super classy.

The cardstock is embossed with silver foil and is the heavy weight cardstock--like the new Heavy Whisper White cardstock in the new catalog.

Did I mention that there are pictorial directions in the kit--but you can just look at the pictures on the front of the kit or in the catalog and see how easily they are assembled.(Note: the fancy designs that you see are all complete for you ready to push out of the sheet of die cut designs--just adhere to the card)

The wood grain is actually thin sheets of wood that really make these cards stand out as special.

I've listed the 3 types of adhesive for ease of selection. I recommend the glue dots for the sequins--but tiny dots of liquid glue will also do the job--just let them dry well.  Fast Fuse will adhere wood panels as will the liquid glue...so pick the one(s) you enjoy working with.

The "Price is Right"--$16 for 15 cards....you just can't beat that price!

So, we have Quick, Easy, Affordable, and all inclusive (except for greetings, inks and adhesive of choice)---sounds like a dream come true...and here's a video to help you with assembly!
