Quick & Easy Easter Baskets
March 18, 2015
We saw these little beauties at the classes this past weekend--they were door prizes. Several ladies wanted the directions to make the Easter baskets....so I thought I'd share them with everyone. (If you come to more classes before Easter...you may see them again!)
Start with a 6 X 6 piece of cardstock (I used Blushing Bride); score one side at 2 & 4 inches; turn cardstock 90 degrees and score again at 2 & 4 inches. I've used a pencil to enhance seeing the score marks
Using paper snips, cut the first square approximately 1/3 of the length up to the next score line, then approximately 2/3 of the length again....see the picture. (Repeat this on the last square of this side and repeat on the opposite side of the cardstock). You now have 3 "fingers" on the first and last square on two opposite sides.
Mark the 1" point on the middle square of the first side and draw a line diagonally right down to the score line and then diagonally left down to the score line. Repeat on the opposite side.
Here's a close up of one corner
Now, holding the "triangle" piece with one hand, start pulling up the first "finger" to the right and place it on top of the triangle. Pull up the first finger on the left side and hold these in place. Repeat with the next finger on the right side, then left side until all fingers are used. punch through with a paper piercer and use a silver mini brad to hold in place.
Repeat with the opposite side,
Cut a piece of blushing bride cardstock 1/2" X 8" and attach inside the basket with glue dots.
Basket is done and you can decorate with anything your imagination can dream up! I used the Pansy Punch, Petite Petals Punch, and of course some glimmer (Basic Rhinestones).
