3D & Paper Crafting Projects

Super Easy Gift Bag

I had a gift card for a friend but wanted a Super Easy Gift Bag to really make a spectacular presentation. I also know this friend loves a bit of chocolate---so I needed something a bit larger than a gift card holder. Then I though about the new Stampin'Up! Striped Treat bags and wow--what a great fit! Here's the gift bag  144255_striped_treat_bag

Now I thought, it would be lots of fun to spiff up this cute little bag and make it spectacular (instead of just gorgeous). S0, here's what happened...

  1. I stamped "Enjoy your special day!" (from Dragonfly Dreams #142924) in Archival Basic Black ink in the white spaces of the bag. Wow, what a difference that made!
  2. I  punched out 2 Daisies with the Stampin' Up! new Daisy punch (back in stock) from gold foil paper, I adhered one daisy to a 1 1/4" white cardstock circle; layered on the 2nd daisy with a dimensional. Punched out a 1/2" circle from gold glimmer paper and used a glue dot to place it in the daisy center.
  3. Clipped it onto the bag top with a gold Library Clip.

Now here's what that looks like! Spectacular, right? Striped treat bag
See what you can do with these cuties and send me  a picture I can share with our other stampers!

Here's the supply list--remember use the Shop now button to place your order and use  this month's Host code (VAWE76SW) when you check out and for each $50 in product that you purchase (excludes shipping/tax) you will receive $5 Stampin'Up! product from me as a thank you!

I'll Share a Secret...Wink, Wink!

I've had several stampers ask me a question this past week, so  I'll Share a Secret...Wink, Wink!

The question I've been ask is "how do I get my Wink of Stella to work? I've squeezed and squeezed and I can't get the sparkle to come out."

Well, I can help you with that!  Follow these steps and I bet you won't have any trouble:

  1. Unscrew the top & bottom of the white case.
  2. Remove & throw away the black ring between the top & bottom.
  3. Screw the top & bottom back together; gently squeeze the 2 pressure points on the side of the barrel until you see the sparkle coming into the brush.
Note: To store,  stand it upright so you can read either Clear or Gold on the end.

But, that's not the secret I want to share with you! Did you know you can have Wink of Stella in all the Stampin'Up! colors? Yep, I just created this cute tag and all the flowers and leaves are "WINKING" in the Stampin'Up! colors... FullSizeRender
now I admit it is difficult to see in my photo because I cannot seem to capture the sparkle....but trust me it is really very lovely when the whole bouquet sparkles like crazy and I can get lighter and darker shade without losing sparkle.

Here's how to get the Winked colors:

  1. Stamp the image that you want to use in Archival Black ink. Let it dry completely.
  2. Squeeze the top & bottom of the Stampin'Up! Classic stamp pad together (while it is closed) so that ink is deposited on the lid of the  container.
  3. Take your Clear Wink brush & touch the ink in the lid and begin brushing your image. Inking Painting
  4. Continue dipping the Wink brush in the color until you complete your image...note, you can lighten & darken the color without affecting the shimmer because each time you dip into the color more Wink flows out as you paint.
  5. If you want a lighter shade, pull the ink out in to a small stream from the main puddle in the lid. If you want a darker shade, work  with the undiluted ink in the lid or do more layers--remember it will not lessen the shimmer because the Wink is renewed as you paint.
To clean between colors, just brush on a scrap of paper until it is clear Wink.

Note: for the tag the wheel barrow image was stamped on Whisper White cardstock with Archival Black ink (You're Sublime stamp set). Cut this with Stitched Shape framlits and the layers with Layering Circle framelits.  Thread 1/8 Silver ribbon through the hole punched with 1/8" circle punch.

If you tuned in last week you may remember the Timeless Tags thinlits dies--well, look at this set again and you'll see the border thinlet of teeny tiny butterflies.  It's great for today's tag but as I was working with it I'm thinking--wouldn't these little butterflies look great in a shaker card? Can't you just see them fluttering around in one of those?

Ok, back to the thinlets--I think between last week and this week's samples, you can already see the great versatility and usefulness of this set of dies.

DIY Quick Easy Gift Tag

I know time  is running short and that's why I'm going to show you how to make the DIY Quick Easy Gift Tag---it only takes a couple of minutes--if you need several, doing it assembly line will make it go even faster!  Here it is...it's great for guys, gals, kids, teachers, the office--it's great for everyone!

Fastest gift tag
DIY Quick Easy Gift Tag

It's getting pretty late to make cards so if you haven't quite found the time to do those, the next best thing is a hand-crafted gift tag.

This little cutie relies on Candy Cane Lane Washi Tape---see it down at the bottom...now there is just no quicker way to add tons of pizzaz to your tag or card than to grab a couple of designs that coordinate (and Stampin'Up! does that with all their washi tape--they come packed to coordinate with each other).

The top of the tag is a fabulous design that looks like it takes some real talent and skill---NOT! It's the Scalloped Tag Topper punch---does all that glorious design in one punch...just cut the cardstock to 2" and as long as you need for your design--then punch the top and it looks like a million bucks!

OK, I'm going to give you the step by step directions and then the supply list.

1.Cut a piece of thick Whisper White cardstock 2 X 4"--I use the thick cardstock because it gives the tag a bit more sturdiness. Then punch one end with the Scalloped Tag Topper punch.

2. Stamp Merry (Holly Jolly Christmas stamp set) in Real Red classic ink at the top of the tag.

3. Thread a 12"piece of cherry twine through the top hole.

4. Select a couple of designs from the Candy Cane Lane Washi Tape and apply to the bottom of the tag.

5. Stamp the reindeer (Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set) in Archival Black ink on a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock; punch out with the Cookie Cutter punch.  Adhere to the tag with a couple of dimensionals.

6. Punch a 1/2" circle of red glimmer paper and cover the reindeer  nose using another dimensionals

Your tag is completed! I told you that it would only take a couple of minutes, right? Now make a bunch so you can get that wrapping under way!

Here's the supply list:

DIY Easy Quick Inexpensive Christmas Ornament

Want to create a DIY Easy Quick Inexpensive Christmas Ornament? I have the easiest and quickest ornament...and it can also be used as a gift bag tag or on a gift box! You can mass produce these for office workers, teacher's gifts, gifts for your small groups, bunco prizes and the list goes on and on...so here it is

Mason jar lid Christmas ornament
Mason Jar Lid Christmas Ornament

I'm going to give you step by step directions to create this little cutie and then I'll give you the supply list--it is pretty short because you don't need a lot of supplies for this one!

The Cookie Cutter stamp set is going to be great to use all year when you need to use cookies in  your card or tag making--wouldn't a gingerbread cutout be great for your Christmas pictures in your album? And the coordinating punch is awesome--no more fussy cutting plus it has the added benefit of punching out those bows, 2 sizes of circles and a tiny heart--it is so precious!

So here goes:

You can purchase Mason Jar lids from supermarkets and super stores like Walmart, Target, etc. Be sure you purchase the lid and the ring--there are 2 parts to the lid (in case you haven't used mason jars before).

1. Cut a piece of Warmth and Cheer Designer Series Paper Stack using the Layering Circles framelits. I used the one that is approximately 2 3/8" in diameter. Glue dot this to the lid surface.

2. Stamp the gingerbread man (Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set) in Early Espresso Classic Ink on Whisper White cardstock (#100730). Punch out using the Cookie Cutter Builder punch and adhere the cookie to the center of the designer series paper using Stampin' Dimensionals

3. Using your Cookie Cutter builder punch and red glimmer paper--punch out a bow tie and adhere under the chin of your gingerbread man. Now if you would prefer--you can easily have a gingerbread lady by moving the bow to the top of the head and ----a cute little lady!

4, Apply several glue dots around the side rim of the jar lid--if you prefer use a strip of Tear and Tape. Wrap a 24"piece of Kraft rope trim (#141996) around the rim (the glue dots or tape will help hold it in place). Tie a square knot at the top of the rim (left over right, then right over left).  Bring both ends of the rope up to form a 2"  loop and tie another square knot. This forms the hanging loop.

5. Using an 8"piece of stitched satin 3/8" ribbon, tie a bow and glue dot it to the first square knot at the top of the rim.

Your ornament is completed!  The Warmth and Cheer designer series paper has 12 wonderful designs (and each page is double sided)--you can create over 100 ornaments from one pack of designer paper! Check it out!
